Rayvan smiled and blushed a bit at his offhand compliment to her, but his next comment had her smile slipping a bit, thoughts of her own rather taciturn father and his long hours of teaching her how to defend herself and shoot and always criticizing everything her and her brother ever did. She pushed the thought viciously to the deep dark depths of her mind, not wanting to remember those years. Her smile brightened once more,"I have a knack for old names." Her hands fidgeted in her lap, wanting more than anything to reach out and grasp his once more, she liked the feel of the callouses upon his hands. "I take you and he were not on the best of terms? Never mind I don't mean to pry."
She was a bit surprised at his chuckle, but when he turned to her and asked her about talent, she in turn chuckled, "Well partly lucky guess, but to be honest I do have a bit of a 'gift' if that's what you would call it, many say I'm not blessed but cursed." She lowered her eyes to her entangled hands, and chewed rapidly at her bottom lip, it had been a long time since she had told anyone about her abilities, she was worried about sharing that part of herself, but at the same time she felt as if this man this Hiero would understand and accept it for what it was. "I.. have to admit I did get a small fracture of a vision when I touched you....I didn't do it on purpose, but I saw ....the ..other part of you, the part you hide from most everyone."

Hiero smiled a nervous flutter of movement across his face. He instinctively reached out to Rayvan. Taking her hands in his was a presumptuous move but it felt natural. Strangely natural almost as if they had met in another life. He held her small silken hands in his shielding as hard as he had been taught to do. " Okay how about we start over then. My name is Hieronymous Banks-Walker. I am the head of the local werelions. I woulsd like to get t know you and I don't accept my friends and loved ones being placed in pain by anyone even themselves..."
Hiero half expected her to run screaming from the bench. He wasn't sure how she would respond. She had glimpsed his beast yet it was herself that seemed to cause Rayvan anguish. He hopedhis declaration would at least giveher somethingelse to think about. It did things to him to see her pained. He was prepared todo almost anything to keep her from further harm...

If Rayvan had been looking up at him she would have seen the small smile before he reached for her hands. At the touch of his fingers against her own, she instinctively wound her hand inside of his, but she was careful to put every bit of shielding up as she did so, it was almost as if they had done this before, in another time and place. It was a strange sensation even for her, and she was used to having strange things happen to her.
At his statement about starting over a smile like the sun peaking of the horizon in the east sprang to being on her face. She raised her eyes to his when he started speaking, she had been right. The small part she had seen had been him, the thought should have scared her but instead it comforted her. "I am Rayvan Wolfbaen, widowed, human telepath and sometimes clairvoyant. I am new to the city but it is a pleasure to meet you Hiero."
Something pulled at her, she wanted to be closer to him, wanted to do nothing but sink into his embrace and stay there, safe and secure for as long as she lived. "And I don't accept my friends and loved ones being in pain either, even if is self inflicted." She slid a bit closer to him on the bench, only a hand span separated them now. She looked down at their hands entwined, it looked so normal, and right, as if they belonged that way, it was meant to be.

Rayvans response was a salve to a pain he hadn't known was there. He took her movement as a step away from whatever had hurt her and smiled. Her warmth in his hand stirred him and his beast in an enjoyable way that he hadn't expected. He had learned to keep himself bottled and corked yet this woman, Rayvan had him... hoping. It was an interesting feeling as Hiero stayed a good deal more composed than he was at the moment.
"Well, what say you and I go someplace noisy where we can talk and have a bite to eat ?" Food wasn't the only appetite he'd like to sate but he hoped it was a start...

Rayvan's face lit at his offer, "I would like that very much, you have any place in mind? I don't know any places here yet so I wouldn't be any help, but I'm not picky." She looked around at their haven, she wasn't sure why she was suddenly thinking of them as a we, or an us but it just seemed to fit somehow.
She slid one hand free from the nest they had made of their entwined fingers, reaching out across the distance and running a finger across his jawline, "You are a beautiful man, do you know that?" She slid her hand away form his face her face turning a bright red in response to her now very apparent embarrassment, "I'm sorry, that was very forward of me."

Hiero's heart lifted Rayvan had accepted his invitation. In a fit of emotion uncharacteristic of him he pulled her into an embrace his face suffused by an inner glow. His enthusiasm running full out his lips found there way to her as if drawn by magnets. he tried to merely smile away his ownforwardness but he wouldn't lie to her. He'd enjoyed the purloined kiss with every fiber of his being.
Smiling as if he were the cat that ate the canary. "I like forward. I like forward a lot. And as far as dinner I have just the place its a drive but its worth it..." Hiero thought on the Cal Harbor and its great food staff and all around aura. It was just the place for a casual first of hopefully many meals the would share.

Rayvan wasn't surprised when Hiero pulled her to him and kissed her, she was elated. It was almost as if they were totally in tune with one another. Her eyes shone with emotion as they parted, she could almost remember feeling like this once before but she couldn't remember when. She felt like she should remember though and that bothered her, she felt as if there was something very important about this man that she had forgotten.
She beamed at his smile so happy she couldn't hold it in, "Lead the way, I am at your mercy, but you better hurry or I might simply starve before we get there." As if to prove her point her stomach growled loudly, and she fell into his arms in a fit of giggles, "See? You better hurry my Hiero or I'll perish at your feet." She couldn't remember when she had been able to smile and joke so freely or easily with anyone, it was a freeing feeling.

Hiero was awash in good vibes. He felt as if he could leap the tallest building and run faster than a speeding locomotive. Many other superlatives came to mind but Hiero settled for lifting Rayvan into his arms. Her weight against his chest was a welcome memory. He was sure he never had; but it felt right as if they had danced this dance a thousand times. Their bodies knew the steps without being prompted. Attuned as he was to te chorus of his own body Hiero was intimately aware of the time of his heart. Its echoing of Rayvans was a duet he had not exppected. He took it as validation of their future together...
His smile bright enough to light a starless night Hiero asked "Did you drive here?" The mirth twinkling just at the corner of his eyes threatened to spill forth and infect the very world.

A flash of something in Rayvan's mind had her looking at Hiero's face again, it wasn't coming from him this time but from her, it was a memory of something maybe? Or a vision of the future she couldn't be sure but it was her and him together in the kitchen of a house. A house she was sure she hadn't seen before. They seemed to be very intimate, it caused her face to suffuse with blood at the thought, but it was a happy thought.
When he swung her into his arms she automatically laced her arms around his neck, the fit together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, their bodies interlocking and melding together as if they were made from the same piece of material. "No, I walked."
She lay her head on his shoulder, but a thought occurred to her and she looked back up into his face, "does Beauty and the Beast mean anything to you?" She wasn't sure why she had asked or what the thought was that spawned it but she felt as if it were extremely important that she ask.

"Walked, thats great..." Hiero tensed pulling Rayvan closer into his chest. He took off as if he had been shot outof a cannon. the ground raced along beneath them. He wasn't the fastest lycanthrope but he could run seemingly endlessly. The exhilaration of running had been one of his greatest joys.
Her question brought him skidding to a stop a few feet from his motorcycle. He hadn't thought of the wind and the late winter cold until he saw the blush of her cheeks. Her words had been ripped away by the breeze but he'd caught them easy enough. " Beauty and the beast..." It was said as a question yet it struck a chord of remembrance. It wasn't possible as he knew he had never met Rayvan. Pushing the thoughts to the rear of his mind for later review he smiled softly and replied. "Only if its in regard to you and I." It was a joke a castoff statement yet it stuck in his head. Thats exactly whathe was in a fairytale. It seemed as if he was having a waking dream...It was one he had no want to ever wake from. Sitting Rayvan on her feet he kept his hands about her waist to steady he wasn't sure her or him. He felt as if she left his touch then he'd wake...
