Home. Alex stared out at Lake Michigan. One of the largest fresh bodies of water inthe continental U.S. Its waves lapping the shore stealing more and more of the beach each pass. She wasjust as restless as this inland sea. Unlike this beast of ature she didn't have a home, yet. She would however and soon. Win or lose she was not running from anything ever again. She'd restrained her urge to stand and fight and all it had given her was a new set of scars. She hadn't even found a warren of Rodere here and yet she knew that Chicago was to be her home. She felt entirely at ease here so here she would remain. Just like broadway if you could make it here you could make it anywhere. Pulling her thoughts out of the near depths of finality Alex watched the waves drawing a pack of Newports from her pocket. Examining the green and white of its exterior she turned the pack over in her hands. Home. She guessed she wouldn't need a coping mechanism anymore and chucked the freshly opened box into the waves. Home.

Sion moved across the city his head intent on making something new of himself and Chicago as a whole. He had not expected to scent a lycanthrope having a moment of introspection and so was caught short. the woman watched the waves as if they could tell the future. He approached cautiously he didn't want to frighten her but he also was curious. Andrius having cast him aside set all sorts of revenge fantasies loose in his head none of which he would act on. If he acted on revenge then Andrius would have won. he'd be well on his way to becoming what Andrius always wanted a monster. "Excuse me can i share some time with you?"

The man before her was tall, dark and undead. His picture was all overthe place. The only Master to ever step down. The only Master to abdicate, and live. She was sure that there was more to the story but it wasn't any of her business and she wanted to keep it that way. The former master of the City was standing before her. He'd stolen upon her. Alex kept from staring him down as she wasn't sure how powerful he was. She instead kept her attention focused on his nose and mouth. It wasn't much and it'd look as if she were paying attention to him. In truth she was scouting her lone perch. Alone on a cold Chicago night too far from the populace. Damn blood sucker had to go ruin a perect moment of introspection. She may be alone but she wouldn't be anyones meal. No sooner had she thought it than her ever present anger welled up at the interruption. It was her only constant companion. It'd gotten her through a hundred and more scrapes, battles and confrontations; she was sure it'd get her through this one. Slipping her hand back in her pocket she fingered the mini forty five she carried with her at all times. It wouldn't normally do much agaisnt a vampire but she'd made sure to carry rounds that did. They were expensive but she had very little in way of needs to spend her cash on so here she was not quite loaded for bear but close enough. for exactly one second she mulled over being polite enough to find out what the former Master of the City would want of her. She was new here she hadn't even moved out of the 'W' yet. She thought of the many ways thatthis could go down. It all hinged on her choice of words. Not that she had much choice she'd awoken her good friend wrath she didn't haver many options. As the safety was grip operated she slipped her hand around her gun and turned to the Former Master. Leveling where his heart should be she spoke. She'd hate to lose the jacket but she'd hate to be dinner more. " What can I do for you?" Her voice waws low and quiet it was the voice ofthe killer she'd become. It was a voice that said here there be monsters.

Sensingthe womans nervousness Sion stepped back a small step. " I didn't mean to startle you. I come hear often myself. Its rare that anyone else would be here. In truth I think we cand something for each other." It sounded like a cliche come on but Sion hoped that the truth of his words rang throughout. It wasn't much but he did have the best of intentions he hoped that his intentions would win her over. He smelled the gun oil that covered her own scent. He was guessing the slight bulge in her jacket was a firearm. while it wouldn't do much in the way of actually harming him being shot was always a bad way to get to know someone.

Alex watched as he took the step back but that might've been just to lull her into a false sense of security. Instead of putting her at ease it lit her fuse and her mouth was off and running. " How can that be didn't you retire or something? I don'tknow what you want but I'm not a buyer so please don't try to sell me anything." There as always were a million better ways to say what she did in a less confrontational manner. Alex just hoped that she'd have the chance to screw them up at a later date. She took her own step away from the former master of the city. She knew it wasn't much but she also knew that vampires were only fast if they rolled you. She had kept her gaze away from his eyes for just that selfsame reason.

Sion watched as the woman madeup in her mind to go on the offensive. He hunghis head and chuckled. He turned from her to watch the roiling waters. "Okay you're right there isn't anythingthat icould dofor you that you couldn't eventually do for yourself. How aboutwe start over. Hi, I'm Sion the former master of the City and you are?" He didn't bother to extend hs hand as he was sure that she wouldn't except. As she moved back a step more Sionsighed allowing his shoulders and stance to reflect what he felt. what he truly felt. Andrius would be almost impossible it would take a miracle and he was a good deal more lax in devotions to a religious body evenduring his living years.

His backpedal did nothing to clear the doubts in her head. He was still a vampire andshe knew that they could be extremely dangerous. The rat in her sought an escape. The woman was prepared to drop him where he stood. " Names Alex Sion what is it you really want. Its written all over you so lets save some time and just get on with it." Again not the most tactful but Alex hated being snuck up on.

Sion watched the woman from the corner of his eye. Not that he had too. She'd only act in defense so long as he moderated his conversation. "Okay down to business then. I amlooking forallies. Idon't know how long the current powers to be will alow me to live. I am not going to flee to another city as that would make things worse so here I stand and I am looking for brilliant and brave people to stand with me." Sitting a card down on the railing Sion began to move away from the woman. If her curiousity wouldn't get the better of her; He hoped that his obvious attempt at a peaceful first meeting would.

Alex waited for the sad little vampire to slink away before she retreived the card he'd left. She was of a mind to toss it into the lake but you never could tell where an unlikely ally might spring from. It was probably why they were called unlikely. Pocketing the card she double checked her area to make sure she was alone. Satisfied as to her privacy she dialed her contact on the police force and retrieved the information she'd been waiting on. She hate dhaving topart with valuable information but the rodere were notoriously difficult to find and she had to findthem as fast as inhumanly possible especially now.
