{Takes Place the Morning of 'Time to Escape'}

Viaggiatore could easily have walked off of any late eighties early nineties movie screen. His five o'clock shadow was present and accounted for. His b-movie mirror shades reflected just the right amount of light.His hair properly maintained in a just out of bed look. His perma-grimace striking just the right amount of 'don't fuck with me' that said maybe after work we could do just that. He moved through the precinct with a surety that said he belonged.

His badge may not have said Chicago but he was one of the brothers in blue. They wouldn't stop him if they could. He knew where he was going he wore a badge. It was ashame that was all it took to truly circumvent the security of a police station. He almost sneered but that would catch some well meaning persons attention. They'd ask what was wrong or make some comment that would demand his attention.

He hated being here now. He felt like the worst sort of being. He would much rather get back to his pet monster. Sadly his handler demanded he show. The locals were lighting fire to the flagpole in their search of him. Luckily his on the clock record was pristine otherwise they would have sent out the wranglers to make sure he arrived. He couldn't have too many people aware of his actions.

Breezing into RPIT he began looking for the Captains office. Spotting the Lieutenants he made his way in that direction...

Rayvan looked up from the paperwork scattered across her desk as she heard the footsteps off to her right. She looked at the individual with a sidelong glance and wondered at who he was. She didn't remember having seen him around since she had been here, but that didn't really mean much as she wasn't always in the squad room. Her and Chance had been running all over town chasing this case of the dead Arcadian.

Green eyes took in his appearance, noting the glasses as well as his rather smart dressing. Flashing a smile she returned to her paperwork, she didn't want to be rude but at the same time she could see he was heading for Jay's office, so he wouldn't want to stop and chat anyway and she had things to get done. Scribbling her signature for it seemed like the hundredth time that day she moved on to the next stack of papers and started writing once more.

Tak was going over some paper work at his desk. One thing that always needed to be done no matter how fast a case can gain momentum. One thing that made him a good cop is a balance between being a field agent, and CYA'ing to the umph degree. Tak had a presence of setting everybody off. He did that on purpose. They say that the best way to hide is in plain sight. With Tak's excellent record it was the art of fighting without fighting. Sifu Bruce canned that phrase in Enter the Dragon. This man walking towards Jake's office is a wolf hiding admist the sheep. Tak would bet a year's salary that this man's record was pristine. He wore I'm a bad ass and there's not a God D*&mn thing you can do about it. Can't have two wolves admist the sheep. Someone had to go and it wasn't certainly wasn't going to be Tak

Chance came out of the coffee room, having done battle with the giant metal beast and earned his reward of caffeine. He watched the stereotype of a cop stalk through the room and his eyebrows raised a bit. He crossed to Rayvan, at the desk facing his and jerked a head in the man’s direction.

“Now there’s an interesting one. I’ve never seen him before. Another new transfer in, do you think?” He stood watching the man’s progress through the room, frowning. What was it about this unit that attracted the strange ones? His gaze brushed Tak on the way to looking back at Rayvan. Then he sighed and sank down in his chair, picking up his pen to go finish signing the reports in front of him.

Jay was behind a cluttered desk, and that alone made him agitated. He liked things organized, tidy, everything in it's place, but the recent case load had left him little time to spring clean his desk. he was signing off some case files, ready for them to be sent down to the cold case unit when his crystalline eyes spotted a man approaching his office. he closed the case file and arched a brow, he did not recognize the man, and waited patiently for him to enter. Jay's door was open, a habit, he liked to hear the busy sounds of the station, it brought him some reprieve from the chaos of the case load.

"Can I help you?" Jay called out toward the man

Joseph looked over the man behind the desk. He had taken in the bullpen. The officers busy doing the hump work of the job. He hated paperwork himself it unfortunately was a necessary evil. The prosecutors were a touch anal about having cases overturned due to legally exploitable paperwork errors. Smiling Viaggiatore removed his glasses, "Yes. I certainly hope so. I'm here at the behest of a Captain Cords insistence to make an accounting. Could you let him know I'm here Lieutenant or should I liaise with you?"

He wasn't sure how the inner office scuttlebutt ran here but the chatter of a federal liaison was something he'd expected to have made its way around. If not this Cord would be even more of a bother than he already had been. The last thing locals liked was an outsider with the authority to take over their jobs for them. The only thing worse was an unannounced surprise outsider. He'd be viewed as a poacher, police could be as territorial as wolves in that regard...

Rayvan looked up at Chance, "I don't really know. A real robocop look-a-like though isn't he?" She watched him as he stepped into Jay's office. She wondered who he was and if he was indeed a new transfer. She hadn't gotten close to this one like she had Tak, but she would know more about him as soon as she did. At least, whether or not he would give her the creepy crawlies like Tak did anyway.

She sighed and looked back down at her paperwork, she had to be careful about how she tread in this place. She was the only woman on the team, not to mention the fact that she was physic didn't help matters. She didn't want to alienate everyone in the squad but she was wary of them all except for Chance. She knew him well enough by now that she figured she could trust him.

Tak was starting to get the feeling that everyone in here was raped by a tough guy. He could see everyone eyeballing this poor guy, well maybe not poor. He knew that Rayvn was giving him the evil eye just because He looked tough. Probably reminded her of Tak a little bit. Chance was mulling over the possibilities over his sips of coffee. Jay was probably leaning back in his seat sizing up the guy. This force were a bunch of prima donna's.

One thing was certain the grand entrance of this guy would add more mystery to the pot. More precautions needed then just the eye beaming on him. After second thoughts this was a blessing in disguise. The next thing was taking advantage of what this mysterious man would do when he made his impact. Tak could just ride the waves and make things a hell of a lot easier on himself.

“It all depends what exactly you are trying to Liaise, but, I am sure i can act on Cord’s behalf.” Jay leaned forward and clasped his hands together on his desk, “please, take a seat.” He nodded to the chair before his desk.

“Now, may i ask who you are? I’m Lieutenant Connor.” Jay watched the man carefully, as he did with everyone. It was not a look of distrust, a mere sizing up so to speak.

“Is this with regard to anything to do with preternatural cases?”

" Actually that just may do. And no thanks I'll stand busy past several weeks if I sit I may not get backup." Viaggiatore said a small laugh in his voice. Viaggiatore smiled at his joke. It was a common cops gripe too much work and not enough time. Not too mention that it was the truth he'd been very busy indeed. He didn't let the aggravation of being here show. He would rather be elsewhere, as would most of the officers who were busy jumping through procedural hoops.

"Names Joseph Viaggiatore, United States Senior Grade Marshal Section Five. I've been given oversight over Chicago's RPIT as things here have caught the national media." Viaggiatore produced his official papers stating much the selfsame. Stepping forward he slid the paperwork across Connors desk. It was an odious thing but so be it. They all had to march to someones tune. Setting his credentials on the desk He stepped back folding his arms across his chest.

His look was conciliatory. He knew that no one liked answering to someone they didn't know. However desperate times called for desperate measures. He'd listened to the radio on the way over and it was filled with the accounts of a body that was discovered this morning. That shouldn't have been the case especially as RPIT was involved.

He'd worked with many local RPIT agencies over the years and they worked best if they played things close to their chest. It was said but RPIT was a department that only worked if they were twice as mysterious as the things they hunted. Just dealing with monsters could have social backlashes.

As the Lieutenant looked over the federal order Viaggiatore looked over his shoulders at the bullpen. His head was filled with warm static when he'd walked through that meant that someone or some of the staff were secretly Preters. He'd have to find out which ones as they'd be the prime suspects for the leak to the press. That meant he'd have to tread lightly with them until he did.

Without turning back to the Lieutenant he spoke up. "Before you ask where I've been I've been out in your city stirring up a few confidential informants and getting the lay of the land. I like knowing what I'm walking into to. The streets are a mess. Looks like some furry nuclear bomb went off in most areas hat might help us. Not to mention your Hughes like kingpin of crime thats holed up with more security than the president..."
