It was a cold day and the place was somewhat crowded, she usually went to the book store but they had the best brownies here so she pressed through the crowds and found a table near the back with her over sized peppermint something or other flavored coffee. She stirred it with a candy-cane which added to the flavor. She was curled up in an over stuffed green velvet covered chair, there was a table between her and the other chair that no one wanted to occupy since most of the people here were in couples if they stayed in the café and didn’t just leave with their coffees and drinks. She was wearing and over sized grey sweater, tight and over worn over washed jeans. On her feet she wore black tennis shoes. Her sweater was a few sizes to big or was meant to look so, it fell off one shoulder constantly and she was forced to tug it back up every so often.
Flipping a page in her book she paused only to take a sip of her coffee and kept reading. It was a store written by a wolf that had fled the city during the purge, he couldn’t explain why it had happened like no one really could, she thought it was a government conspiracy but she would never say that out loud. The book was his story and how he fled and what had happened to his friends, family, and those never heard from again. She toyed idly with her hair as she read over the page, trying to find any more hint as to what had happened. She had been one to flee as well and now there were no leopards left in the area, at least that she knew. Hopefully there would be some familiar faces, though she knew she shouldn’t hold her breath. The vampires were just barely getting it together and the wolves were even low in numbers which said something though again she would never say that out loud.
