New to town

[J.D. West]

J.D. knew it wasn't a good thing to wait to long to alert an Ulfric when you were in there territory. So while Joce was checking them into the hotel he made the call. Dialing the number that Criss had given him for the Ulfric Tyler Jacobs. When it was picked up he left the message "My name is J.D. West my girlfriend and I are new to town and need to meet with you. " He then gave his number and hung up walking in to the lobby joining Joce so they could get to there room and relax a bit.

Jocelyn had successfully checked into the hotel and grabbed the two keys with a smile and a thank you. She would pull her suitcase over to the living area and take a seat. She was dressed in a grey dress with black leggings and grey and black shoes. She had thick bracelets over her wrists trying to cover up the branding from her past, but because her wrists were so slender they slid around her arm and would usually end up showing. She would rest her hands in her lap and would wait for J.D. patiently looking around the room. After a few moments, the woman would smile as J.D returned and held out a key card for him to take.

"We are in room twenty-two."

She would tell him in her usual soft voice,

"Want to head up and unpack a little? Or at least order some room service?"

She added looking up at him her eyes sparkling.

The office was quiet and sitting in his chair, Tyler was deep in thought. His acting dean had suddenly become both more and less available which evened out? Carina had turned the shop back over to the people it was named for but then gotten in a new leopard so things were kind of up in the air. They were trying to see if maybe he could be of use at the school or at another of the collective of businesses that were shifter owned.

Phone alerting him of a message and he blinked having not heard it ring, sighing softly he checked and felt his brows hit his forehead. Seems Cari wasn't the only one getting new blood. Really hoping that the very precariously balanced apple cart of their lives was not about to be toppled. Tho one could hope, he messaged Varina Gwendolin Hill letting her know to meet him in the office when she could then returned the call. "Thank you for reaching out my Lupa and I are currently at the school which is safe to come to or we could meet you out for a meal. We also have a home at which all who seek to be pack are welcome to stop by just let me know what works best for you and we can set that all up"

Vari hugged Michelle as she clearly needed the affection and bolstering. She was one of the younger teachers and had come to the pack not more than eight months ago. She was still technically in her probationary period. But she was solid hard working and a solid minded young woman. It was all too sad that her father had passed away and to be told in text was just heartless. Her brother seemed an ass. But Vari kept her opinion to herself. People were often unthinking.

This she however knew was purposeful. Seemed as if her brother never learned empathy and was something of a troubled child. So he’d been estranged until recently with Michelle leaving their little town of Peotone once she’d become infected. Her parents knew but clearly hadn’t told anyone. As the woman silently sobbed and drenched her blues in in the salt of her tears Varina held her giving her comfort and supporting her weight.”There there miha it is fine and will be. We can arrange a driver or ticket if you’d like to go home to visit.” No pressure or demands just options. She wasn’t sure the young woman would want to but either way she needed to know the pack would support her.

As she pulled herself back together fixing Vari with a look of doubt saying,’ you’d really let me go?’ Vari answered allowing the truth and care fill her voice.”Of course. We wouldn’t dream of you not being able to say good bye. We are family miha not the army or prison. Everyone is here by choice. I Ben newly infected wolves like yourself. We are here to support your success and protect you. If ever there is a doubt in your mind keep that much as fact.”

The question was a little off putting but she understood that most could not understand that despite the ingrained hierarchy and opposite of many clans the pack was really bent to unity through togetherness and independent strength through trust. Tyler was novel in that mindset. Unlike many who would balk or fight for a cohesive whole first and foremost the pack was far more open than most. The caveat being live your life so you could be proud of yourself and meet your own eyes in the mirror ie don’t bring trouble, don’t make trouble and if you do don’t get caught or sacrifice the pack.

As Michelle nodded saying she needed a moment Cari slipped out of the restroom and began making her way to her office as her phone rang. It being Tyler she despite her sadness smiled bright and naturally. ‘Oh’ she thought and made her way instead to the main office where he should have been wrapping up the coming enrollments and going over the new vendors for fresh game.

Entering she noticed Lowkey having clocked out finally. His perch was empty and his three coffee cups gone. Chuckling at how wired the boy should be but he was always invariably just Seth. “Hey papi,” she called out as she wrapped her arms around him hugging as she kissed his temple.”que estos?”

J.D. smiled at her "How about we drop the luggage and then go meet the Ulfric they have some kinda school we can meet them there then go to dinner somewhere. I'm sure we can find somewhere interesting to eat " He glanced down at what he was wearing trying to decide if he should change. "If your starved we could go and have a meal with the Ulfric he did give us that option. Either way, I think I need to change before we go." He was dressed for comfort in an old tee-shirt, slightly ripped jeans and biker boots. "So what you like beautiful." Jocelyn Swift always looked great even if it was riding in a pick-up for a long drive.

She looked up at J.D. her eye sparkling. The smile on her face faded to a smaller one as he mentioned meeting the Ulfric. The smile fully faded and she bit her bottom lip,

"Oh? So soon?"

She asked looking down at her feet thinking about a few things as her eyes wandered to her wrists seeing the branding that was peeking out from under the bracelets. What if they didn't like her? What if they knew who she was and this ended badly? She had to shake herself out of the thoughts and would look back up to J.D.

"A school you say. Very nice. I can wait until later to eat."

She told him that smile appearing again,

"I need to freshen up while you change."

She said with a giggle grabbing the handle of her suitcase and would look up to him,

"Ready?"

Looking at her he grinned giving her hips a soft grip" seems we have new wolves in town they want to meet I told them they can come here or meet us at the packhouse but I think they might come here and could probably use a meal to make this all smoother"

Kissing her forehead as the phone rang again this time a master vampire who could call wolves. He laughed and explained that to replying that they could meet the next night. " Looks like we are the bells of the ball my dove"

Getting the last of his paperwork for the day finished he shut things in the office down leaving a note for the night guard. They had tried to get a little work-life balance back and tho could still make it to the school in short order should they had to were trying to make it home most nights now. Sometimes with a new shifter or young one, they had to stay over but mostly that plan had been working for them.

Guiding her with him to the front hall to wait for their guests he sat down and patted the spot next to him" So how has your day been my sweet one?"

Following along very much mind working gear turning over the idea of new wolves. There was a time not too long ago where that would have been an impossibility. The old wolves had taken long enough coming around she never thought they’d have as many of the cities wolves in the pack honestly. As they settled she brought his knuckles against her lip and kissed his hand catching his eye. ” Papi you know… My day was actually pretty good. I did get a strange email. No strange so much as unexpected really." She shrugged as it was not completely out of sorts just unexpected.

“But now we have new wolves coming and a vampire who has an ability to call our beasts.” She frowned as she knew from research that it was a metaphysical marriage of sorts. She really didn’t see how it could work for them. They, no she could not accept a lifetime tied to anyone but Ty. He was her future the only future she’d live in. Shaking her head as her head immediately went maudlin she forced a smile.

" Are they going to be on time ya think Papi? I mean I want to be a good hostess but we have a nice couch and the chops you took out should be a perfect end of the day."

J.D. had changed into a button-down black shirt with a pair of black jeans and his hair was brushed back. He checked himself in the mirror and gave a little sigh. It was as good as he was going to get with the clothing that he had. "Yeah let's go and get this done, shall we. The drive to the school didn't take long at all. He parked the truck and got out helping Jocelyn out as well. "Not sure where we go from here let's see if we can find the office. "

Joce would stand at the mirror brushing her hair before pulling it half up letting a few strands fall around to frame her face. Pulling out her makeup she would leave her makeup light and natural-looking before adding some pinkish-red lipstick and clear gloss. While waiting for J.D. to finish getting ready the young she-wolf sat on the bed checking her messages texting her father to let him know she was safe. When he was ready she would follow him out of the room, lock the door and pocket the key before getting back into his truck. She was nervous but got her nerves under control by the time they arrived and the truck was parked. Taking his hand as he helped her out of the truck, her eyes would look around and pointed to the door,

"That looks like the front entrance, let's try entering there, I'm sure the office won't be far."

She would offer a smile on her lips as she looked up on him. With J.D. next to her, she would start making her way to the door and inside if it wasn't locked.
