He shrugged what she was saying made sense but perhaps he’d undersold the hazards. "Keeping me no not really. Making me realize how dangerous the world is yes definitely."



Her stance on his attending the club well that was a surprise. he thought it was apparent. Some men were fans of the clubs and went whether there was any talent on the stage or not. He was not that sort. It was a little funny as his first actual relationship was with a woman who was a stripper. He wasn’t sure how he felt about it now he didn’t have any hang-ups but as she spoke the thought did occur that Selene might once she was of age.



"I never watched you dance because I hadn’t frequented clubs before being with you and I certainly wasn’t going to start after being with you. I don’t need a show and titillation. Not especially when I had you in my bed… Against the sink, in the car, on the stairs, against the building, on the hood of the car, in the park, in the shower, well you get the picture."

"You mean cause of him?" Exhaling some and looked away a moment. Trying to not think about that man again. Closing her eyes, finally realizing his hands were on her shoulders.

Of course, when he replied to her words on the club. She couldn't help that smile nor a low almost purr, looking over to him as he listed off places they'd had together. Some more fun than others. Turning a moment around to face him.

"You forgot the dresser, table, couch, I do believe ever area of this house was claimed. Not that I was complaining our stamina let us play and enjoy for hours."

He smirked some at her adding to the list of places they'd had dalliances. Her purr of pleasure did much to offset the enmity he now carried on his heart for her brother. Yes he was tempted to find out if they could raise the dead without a body.

"I've always had a predilection for doing dangerous things and even with the objections of the Pride I believe the leaders as part of the social contract must stand in the way of any and all danger. And there is a lot of it. "

Oh screw it he thought pulling her more firmly into a hug. They both it seemed could use some warmth from the evil that had been done them by her brother.

"So how soon would you like to meet the Ulfric and enroll Selene in school. The sooner the better I think...You know what occurs to me is we haven't talked about her milestones what she has seen and dine where she is developmentally nor even what she really likes. I have missed so much."

It wasn't said as a way to rub anything in just a realization of all the ground he needed to make up. All the thungs hed like to do and experience. He'd missed first steps first words tears and laughs so so much.

That smirk on his face was nice and she knew he found it amusing she added to his list. Remembering the first time she'd actually purred and how startled she been. I mean she's a wolf not feline, but damn if her purring didn't sound damn near that of a cat. Nodding to his words having to agree he was pretty good at predictions of trouble. Sighing some softly before he had her pulled into his embrace.

Wrapping her arms around him, she just closed her eyes for the moment. Knowing and seeing even now she still held that same feeling of being protected on his arms.

The question had her exhaling some before rubbing her cheek against his shoulder she was that tall. Knowing prolonging things wasn't needed.

"I suppose the sooner the better, Selene will need to meet him as well. But I swear Hiero he makes one negative comment you'd better be prepared cause I won't stand back and let anyone say anything negative about our having her."

Her own voice was calm, but he would know by the words alone their truth. Shaking her head softly before reluctantly pulling from his arms and lead him back down the hallway to the master. Letting go she moved to the closet and after clicking the light leaned down a moment. Going through one of her bags she stood back up facing him with a smile.

"I thought these might be something good for you to have."

It was a couple of videos and the smile, the look in her eyes should of told him enough. There were of Selene.

He listened as intently as he always did parsing truth and meaning from not just what was said but also what wasn't. He knew that for all of her heartfelt protectiveness that the truth was she worried about not her being accepted but about Selene. She worried as much as he did and hid her concern behind threats if violence.

He got it, he did god knew he did. He was just fantasizing about desecrating the dead for a bit of vengeance. He wouldnt though the thought was so very tempting. Childish but tempting all the same.

Following along he had to admit he was surprised she'd kept videos. Dvd's and cassettes no less. He immediately wanted to watch them. He glanced around the room finding the player and moving to it.

Stopping himself he looked to her shrugging as he asked. "I should ask first but do you mind narrating as we watch these? Like where were you two what was happening in your world at that time that sort of thing."

He was as ever a bull in a China shop straight in to the heart of his wishes. Only as he spoke did he realize that maybe she didn't want to walk down that road as it was probably too soon for her to watch her brother if he was in any of the videos. Hiero honestly didn't mind as he'd never been true friends with her brother and he knew there was nothing they could do to the dead man.

That was one thing about Hiero, he listened as she spoke or really anyone, but it had always meant alot knowing he was actually paying attention. Exhaling some and rather glad that he didn't actually speak what he was thinking aloud, it might of been harder to hear honestly. Granted it wasn't exactly far from the truth. Shaydra could give two licks if she wasn't accepted it was their daughter she worried for more. Sighing some softly before she'd decided to give him something that she had a feeling was going to make the lion extremely happy.

Smirking a little when he seemed to get almost instantly what it was she was showing him and softly laughed at his looking for the player already. Before he was looking back at her and she gave a soft smile and nod, moving to where he was and taking the collection a moment before pulling one out.

"This one you should see firstt, but you will understand when you see it."

Moving she put it into the player first and handed him the remote, softly smiling and leaned in kissing his cheek before she moved away once more. The one in the player, the one any new father to be wants to witness.

"I'm gonna check on Selene and grab something to drink, do you want anything?"

After he answered she'd slip back out of the room.

"No I'm good thank you..." He said already focused on the video. He didn't even mind knowing who'd been holding the camera he was curious as to who was there with her. He could posit the doctor slash doula and nurse but the other two in the background on the verge of shifting was a question he would ask later. His eyes were all for the bundle of warmth and joy that was coming.

Everyone always spoke about the magic of childbirth and he was nearly overcome with the pained expression on Shaydras face. It was pain but somehow as immense as it was she didn't threaten a shift. Her eyes didn't even go. Her voice was all human.

Without realizing it he was on his feet instead of on the bed he was staring from less than a foot from the screen watching absorbing every detail.

As Shaydra came back in he said "March 2013 was the first time yoi kissed me you know that right?"

When he didn't wish for anything she merely nodded and slipped out, making her way to Selene's room and carefully peeked in. She was still sound asleep, snuggled under her blankets and clunching her two favorite stuffed animals which was highly amusing to her mother. Since one was a black wolf the other...a lion. Ever since she told Selene about her and Hiero, the little one was fascinated by knowing everything she could or would get to on both species. Not that Shaydra minded telling her either.

Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, she would slip her head back out and close the door carefully. The little one needed the rest. But she wasn't fussing so Hiero must of given her some kids medicine before putting her to bed, or it wasn't bad enough that she noticing anymore.

Briefly glancing back down the hall she smiled knowing he'd enjoy that and made her way to the kitchen, glancing in the fridge and grabbed one of the beers there before she made her way back. Just walking into the room as he spoke and she paused midsip looking over at him, braced right in front of the t.v. and cocked her head trying to think.

"Oh and your sure about this how? You can sit on the bed to watch that no need to give yourself a headache being so close to the screen."

Still trying to think back to when she was first here in Chicago and wondering what made him think about that. But it did make her smile appear once more as she went to slip onto her bed and lean against the headboard.

"Despite my wild wayward ways Iactually have a petty good memory from time to time." He chuckled turning to her as she crawled across her bed. "Yeah I know I shouldn't be so close to the TV but thats a myth that its bad for your eyes..." Pausing as Selene's newborn voice filled the room. Turning back he immediately rewound to the moment she cried. He was blown away such a big sound form such a small being. He stood watching as she wa cleaned and handed to Shaydra. It was honestly a great moment of posterity. He wa thankful her brother wwas too busy filming to make himself known on camera. His voice was far too much as it was.

He rewound the video once more watching it from just as the Doctor or doula had Shaydra really push in earnest. Yeah he was a sap already.
Sitting on the bed he was in awe and just struck by how beautiful she was.

"Wild and wayward ways, wow now is that you or your lion you speaking of? Because I'd be hardpress to pick between the two of you on that point as I know the two of you far to well." Chuckling some as she lounged along her bed feeling more comfortable, hell all she had on was a t-shirt and shorts, but then her and Selene had been together all day. She changed when she got them home not expecting a visitor. But than Hiero never made her feel like she had to always be dressed up, how many mornings had she awoken to him telling her she was the most beautiful woman when she first woke up?

Chuckling softly as he countered her too close comment before he was suddenly distracted when Selene finally was born and cried. Man he had no idea how long that labor was and she debated a moment before deciding he needed to know a few things.

"I nearly lost her a few times before even being close to delivery. Cerena the one you hear the most who is my dearest friend thinks it was my body either fighting or adjusting to this pregnancy. She was even shocked when I told her who the father was and found it amazing our beasts had not only accepted each other, but openly accepted a mating between them. She suggested a few times I terminate, that she didn't think my body would carry a hybrid cross like this to term. Guess my body and me said otherwise."

Pausing but only a moment since she knew he might be upset at what she was telling him. But he needed to know.

"Anyhow, I do have alot of scarring cause of my job as a hunter, but I told Cerena that if I did die, she was to make sure the baby went back to her father no matter what. I wasn't wanting her raised by anyone other than her parents and if something happened she needed and should be with you. Said I sounded like a woman who knew her hearts inner desires. As it was 'your' daughter had be in labor for nearly twenty-four hours before she finally came. Born right on Valentine's Day which was actually rather cute."

Exhaling she laid her head down on her arm, looking and watching him. Even as he was watching the screen, wanting to see and know how he would take any of this. Not even bothering to mention about her brother, she was trying to not remember the fact the bastard was there and not Hiero. If she could of changed anything it would of been to have Hiero with her. Closing her eyes she tried to push the feelings, the emotions starting to come forward back down again.
