He moved closer dropping his hands to her shoulders as she looked out. Looking over her head he watched the street with her. The city could be beautiful despite itself.



"True enough he isn't, he has a good heart even with all his troublesomeness. But he isn't the only wolf and the others will most assuredly flock to the new Ulfric. I've felt his strength and if his Lupa is as strong they will be a nice anchor for the Finsternis as well as a better target than you and Selene."



There he'd said it or as close to saying as he would dare. he wante dthem safe and their was no real safety in leading a clan especially with the packs history here in Chicago. He was sure it wouldn't be long before they were under siege again. He wanted Selene to know the ways of the pack even if in the end it didn't hold long. He hoped it would but just from personal experience the job was a dangerous fraught one.

"I know its a lot to ask but you know as a strong wolf that even in a role other than Ulfreya that being part of a pack can make all the difference in the world. THough the decision is yours our daughter deserves the best we can provide for her."

Standing there at the window, she listened quietly for the moment as he spoke. But he would notice how her whole body reacted to the news on the leaders. Her back went ram-rod straight and she was tense for a moment, a low growl knowing there was already leaders for the pack here, though after inhaling a few seconds she let her body relax once more.



"You know if I didn't care about you Hiero, I might actually be a little insulted by how you just worded that?"



Yeah she had a feeling he wasn't meaning for it to sound that way, be he just kind of said she was weak. Exhaling a little as she finally looked over at him, knowing exactly what he was saying and couldn't help smiling over at him. Shaking her head a little watching him a moment and slowly made her way back over to where he was, placing her finger at his lips when she started and stopped him.



"Wrong, I'm her mother, your her father. We decide together as her parents what is best for her."

That being said and done he simply nodded as he mentally moved on. It wasn't a rousing afirmation but it would have to do for now. At least she wasn't actively aganst the idea. "While we're speaking about Pack and such what ar eyou going to do for employment I know you would have been going mostly stir-crazy by now..."

It wasn't a subect change so much as a broadening of it. She was a spitfire and had always split her time between dancing and manhunting. It was what she'd provided for herself with. he wasn't sure if she'd be willing to change careers but that would need to be worked out Especially as Selene now had two parents in her life she would need them both coming on especially once the drives of her beasts increased.

Hiero never was one that liked to push her buttons to the point she lashed out, so when he shifted to her employment, Shay remained standing in front of him for the moment. Her eyes staring back into his wondering when that topic was going to come out in the open. A smirk slowly working its way over her lips at the mention of herself going stir-crazy and she shook her head.



"I don't go stir-crazy dear and as for employment if you haven't done so you might actually want to look into my bank accounts. This she-wolf isn't needing, but I'm assuming that is your sweet way of trying to see if I might consider new lines of work."



Oddly, Shaydra wasn't angry or upset with the topic. It was almost amusing to her he wasn't telling her she needed to stop being a stripper and bounty-hunter. But that wasn't Hiero and she just couldn't help the smile on her lips at the moment.

Her smirk was brighter than times past and yet there was devilment there beneath the surface. She was letting him dig until he hit a vein. Luckily as big a mouth as he had he was tactlessly honest so he would generally never talk himself in circles.



"Why would I check your bank accounts? I’ve never been that guy. I am however asking as I know no matter how well you are doing you like to be active. And while I am sure as great a child as Selene is that she has to be a handful of a job and yet not as action packed as you formerly liked things. So yeah I’m curious. "



He had a very small right to be as he wanted Selene to never have to deal with issues such as having to bury her mom.

"I'm giving you permission to check, I never thought you were one of those types of men. I wouldn't of been with you period if you had been. But yes our daughter is different compared to my work. I just have not consider much else honestly, but I do them because I'm good. Plus I was doing them long before I was turned. Bountyhunting, I just got better at once I learned control with my wolf and all, dancing well as much as I would love to give my wolf credit for any aid there. Dancing is more a natural talent."



Shrugging a little before she paused, about to turn away only to stop herself and continued to look back at him. Cocking her head some to the side wondering if he would answer a question for her, that went back further than just now.



"If I asked you something, would you give me your complete honest answer and not skirt around it. Its something I've been curious about for awhile just never asked before."

"Still didn’t answer but I get it it’s a lot to consider. Its just that I have been thinking on a few things myself namely the Abstrahimus is a dangerous thing it’s a good thing but it can be very dangerous and I am putting off a trip I need to take."



Ending his train of thought there he watched her move pacing always busy moving to him then away. Yeah they both knew it was better to touch as little as possible yet they were drawn to just that touch. Tempt fate test boundaries yep the road to hell and all of that.



"I’ve never lied to you I doubt I’ll start now. I will respond genuinely what is it?"

Her brows rose some at his words looking at him wondering if he would give more on the trip or even why he was putting it off.



"Remind me again on the Abstrahimus and why are putting off a trip? Because of me and Selene arriving?"



Wondering and hoping their arrival wasn't the cause, because she'd like to think he knew she could easily protect their daughter while he was away. Herself well, she wasn't one of the worlds best bounty hunters because she was unsafe at what she did.



She waited, trying to gauge his reaction, how he might answer knowing right now somethings could be an issue for him to speak on. But she didn't see why this would be, still it might. Just with their current talk, it had that question coming back and well she felt like perhaps now was a good time to finally ask him. To see if what she had a hunch about was true or not. Sure she wanted to touch him more than they had, actually she wanted to just be in his arms, curled up together no sex involved. Honestly missing the feel.



A smile came when he spoke and her head nodded.



"Did me being a stripper ever bother you? I know you didn't come to the club, but I've been wondering if it ever bothered you and if so why you never asked me to change? Ask not demand, but now I could see a difference, but this is before Selene and something I've wanted to ask before. Just never did. So I'm asking now."

"It’s a coalition of Lions and yes I’ve been putting it off for awhile but even moreso as of late." He answered honestly after dealing with Sabin he knew that if he chose or better yet if he didn’t choose he could be the cause of a lot of deaths. He wasn’t truly sure he wanted that burden.



Her next question made him frown. Her job certainly bothered her brother. Hell to some extent he was sure it even bothered Sabin. He wasn’t sure why it never phased him but it was a nonissue for him. Her jobs were her jobs. He shrugged then answered.


"No. What you did didn’t bother me. Why would it have. Did it bother you?"

At his explanation she nodded, before moving her head slightly to the side a little more, watching him. And took a few steps closer to him, her own brows furrowed some.
Frowning herself a little.


"Hiero if you need to attend to business outside here, go. I can easily take care of myself and Selene if our arriving is helping to keep you from leaving. We will be fine. You can call ever day or night if you like. I just don't want us arriving keeping you from anything you need to be doing for the Pride, or your work."



The frown at her own question had her curious, yeah they were 'not' speaking about her brother nor did she want to hear his name either. Shrugging a little.



"Hardly, as I said I was dancing before I was a wolf. I enjoyed it. Yeah I took off my clothes danced provocatively, I wasn't going around screwing ever person that threw money at me either. Actually at all. But I was just curious is all. You never came to watch me, so wasn't sure if it was something to do with what I did, the fact I was your mate or merely just not something you wished to come to period. But I wasn't bothered by it more curious and with you mentioning now about what I was planning wondered if you might be having issues if I was still a stripper now with us having Selene."
