You can’t sit on the bench forever, Marcus. Everyone plays the game...whether they want to or not. You either play, or the game throws you up to the plate
The words reverberate through his thoughts sitting in the Olmec office with fingers steeped under his chin. Everyone plays…, and eventually he’d have to let the other ring-leaders know how to contact him. Part of him wonders how much they all ready knew. The Olmec and the Ulfric vanished around the same time, for whatever reasons, it had been sheer power of will that kept him from reaching out to them. Historically speaking, his experiences with wolves left the impression to leave them the hell alone when they are potentially looking weakened.
Fingers lightly tap at the keys of his laptop to pull up his daily hack challenges from Hack This! Usually just involves things like pulling up firefox to get a look at the properties proxy to identify specific pieces of code in the wall of abstract math many unsecured sites like to hide behind. So much information lay but a few keystrokes away….dare he gather his armor?
First things first however….
Gamble starts typing...reaching out through the spiderWeb to call the King of the Urban Jungle.

Hiero hated unknown calls as much if not more than the next person. In fact he hated them more he had more to lose and more strings that connected him to all manner of people. So he couldn't ignore the call. As much as he wanted to. No unknown call had ever bode well for him. He'd always managed to survive the various threats to his tranquility but not usually without a fight. He expected this would turn out the same way. Some faceless person or group looking to bribe, blackmail, or threaten. Sighing he moved to his desk turning on the small device there. It was a present from Kisa via Dárcangelo. The app he'd had installed worked as well just not as sure. Giving the device a ring to boot-up he answered. "Yes." One word a simple yes as in could he help the person on the other end or yes he would do his worst should things turn antagonistic. It was all those things and more. Such as Yes I wasn't expecting your call. Yes go on lets get this over with. Simply Yes and so much more that wasn't on first sight simple.
He hoped it wasn't a threat he was not in the mood and even being as self aware as he had become it was one of his many pet peeves he couldn't quite overcome. He did not take threats well at all. He couldn't think of anyone in his situation that did. He knew however that he tended to overdo his right and just anger when it came to such things. There was as well the fact that his number was floating out there in unknown hands with unknown purpose. No that wouldn't do at all. he'd have to find whomsoever had allowed that to happen and speak a few kindly words to them.

That greeting came across the electronic medium in unmistakable ways. In fact it made him pause as the tonality and myriad of inferences could lead to the man on the other end sounding almost, human. A breath or two and Gamble spoke.
"Hello, Rex. I'm, Gamble, the new Olmec, I am ready to meet with you and the other clan leaders. Rather than make a dozen other calls, I am simply informing you personally as I understand they communicate with you regularly." Gamble got straight to the point.
His eyes widen seeing a notification window pop up declaring the call getting traced. Time to end this call fast. "Want to coordinate a friendly meeting, say Fireside on Friday?" It's true that he could mute the microphone on his laptop and re-route the trace to say.....White Tiger Dojo? That'd only make the Rex paranoid as all get-out. No, Gamble'd let the trace run through. He held nothing to hide where the group lay concerned. All..three, Jaguars?

Hiero absently drummed his fingers as the Olmec spoke he was thinking of every way he could say no. Not from any rudeness on Gamble's part but it was far too much like Gamble was playing off the small begrudging respect he had accumulated in the city. He didn't play the politic game often but when he did he tried to play it well. He was busily trying to decide if he would. He knew what Sabin would say at least in the spirit of it. Lennox had obviously written the Jaguars off once the former Olmec left the city. Hiero was willing to oblige in spirit. There was still the manner in which he was approached. It made him want to say yes even as his pride was a bit ruffled. Direct was better than not so sighing he sat up in the chair in which he leaned.
"Regularly might be an overstatement." He said buying time to really suss out his feelings on the matter.
He couldn't say yes he didn't want to say no. So instead he decided on a road right down the middle. "I will see who I can reach out to on your behalf. But I will be in attendance." Shutting off the trace. He leaned back in the chair its well used metal spring creaking. "I won't make any promises as to the others nor will I trade on my name for you. But we will see." He said insuring his meaning couldn't be missed. He hoped that his forthrightness wouldn't in turn ruffle Gambles feathers and have him call the whole thing off. It wasn't Sunday dinners but it would be nice to see the other leaders in one place to see if the city was as fractious as he feared.

"Your directness is appreciated. I'll meet you, and those whom wish to come, at Fireside on Friday at 3:00. I'll bring my own shoes and ball, reserve a lane." It's not that Gamble grows comfortable the longer he talks, but he lets it seep into his tone that he's let a mental guard down. He absolutely hated playing politics, but this is the way he'd been taught they work. You contact directly and be on point, no games.

Hiero without meaning to chuckled. He wasn't sure what was so funny and wouldn't have been able to say had someone asked. Something about the Olmec of the local Jaguars prattling on about shoes and lanes just struck his funny bone at the right angle. he knew it was burning his political collateral but it was funny and he just couldn't stop the unbridled chuckle. "You're welcome." He managed as he attempted to stifle himself. "I'll buy the first round." Hiero said getting full control of himself. Hanging up the phone he sat his phone down thinking on what would be the best course of action. Settling on a mass text he fired up his contacts list checking names and preparing to send.
