Sabin did not slow down, He kept his pace allowing Adrian a chance to catch up. it was not inhumanly quick, it wasn't even humanly quick, it was a practiced rhythm just the correct speed that Sabin had timed himself at many years ago. He hoped that this was not too fast for the Lion, It would reflect badly on him if he pulled a hamstring on a jog. Sabin could imagine the look on Hiero and Isadora's face if that had happened. The darkness obscured the smirk he wore.
"Sure, as long as I can reserve the right to evade if it is not my answer to give."
Sabin would not answer any questions that were not his to give. Sabin was many things, but he stayed out of family business. Sabin would not tip the hand of the Master of the City. She would tell him in her own time. Isadora will tell Adrian who she is when Sion is no longer a factor. Sabin just hoped that day came quickly, Sabin was getting tired and weary of the city he needed a break, Suddenly the image of boat drinks on his father's boat. Him and Hiero and a few people from the court.
Sabin refocused on the moment, the city and the lion. Sabin took a breath, lost his step and stumbled for a second before he recovered. Sabin stopped to realign his focus and to reset before he snapped his ankle or something worse. Sabin looked over to Adrian. He paused before Adrian caught up to him.
"Don't tell Hiero you saw that. He would never let me live it down."
Sabin started again this time he started slower matching Adrian's pace. He had every intent to increase speed but first he wanted to started slow first and work his way back into it.

Sabin’s burst of speed didn’t come without some merit for Adrian. He watched as the snake leader misstepped. He shamed himself as the sight made him slow some bracing for impact. But just as he was sure they’d crash into one another Sabin recovered. His mama would have shook her head that Adrian had been too slow to try and help. That and the fact a a smile drifted across his face. It was nice seeing one of the infected do something as human as misstep. He knew it wasn’t the most Christian of him but god in heaven it was heartwarming some how. He was suddenly more at ease than he had been in a very long time. He had always assumed it was just him that did clumsy things or made mistakes. Seeing someone as respected as Sabin in a new human light puffed his own self-worth. He hoped Sabin hadn’t done it on purpose to make him feel better or distract him. Even if he did it was a very warm thing to do.
"Sure, thing Sabin. I wouldn’t know if you did but thank you for being honest with me. Way I see it you know something that maybe I should know and it has to do with my family. If it was about the Pride you’d go to Ro over it. So that leaves my flesh and blood which means my sister. Knowing what business she is in and where she keeps her interest I’m guessing she came to close to one of your snakes. If she did I apologize and I will talk to her. She means well she ain’t like those others that sees us all as a crime against god. She even left the police force because of the way she feels. I swear she is one of the good ones. But my question is have you found one of my relatives getting involved with one of your people. If so the only ones I really care for are my mama and my sister. The others as long as you don’t kill them can go take a long walk off a short pier.” Adrian realized what he said sounded harsh and it was. He meant every word he said. It was why he refused to work on Izzy’s car. It was their fathers and he wanted nothing to dod with that man or any of his brothers.

Sabin continued matching Adrian's pace as they had settled into a nice easy slow conversation, that matched the speed of their run. Sabin saw no reason to tinker with the either flow. So he continued and listened. While the lion was busy grasping at straws, Sabin was thinking about how to answer the one Question that was like a train barreling down on him. It was only a matter of time before Adrian got up the heart to ask for a plain yes or no answer. the problem was Sabin enjoyed being Obtuse, It was his thing. He did it so often that he rarely knew when he was doing it. But when he was intentionally obfuscating his meaning it was almost as fun as driving at high speed. Or to the new hobby that Sabin had taken up. Riding his bike no one knew Sabin had taken riding lessons over the past two months. " Well actually now that you mention it Izzy did indeed interact with some lycanthropes I knew but she doesn't know me as anything but the mostly strange but kind Doctor Sabin Shaw. We met a while back, She was working a serial killer case. I was...helping on the case. She doesn't know I am infected. So she is safe from me besides she has powerful friends I know them as well actually." Sabin continued thinking to himself, He hoped that when Isadora made herself known hopefully adrian would give her a chance, She did deserve it. Aloud he said "The person i am thinking about is not Isabella, however If you could do me a favor, please give the person i am thinking about a fair chance, I believe they would be worth it."
Sabin would not give any clues one way or the other. He did not want to step to deeply into her private life at least not yet. He wanted to allow her enough space to not suffocate her, allowing her a chance at a life. On the other hand he could not bear her being hurt by someone. he would do anything he needed to keep her smiling.

Adrian knew he was being played with. He didn’t know how but he could feel it. Even as he wouldn’t willingly hurt anyone he was still a feline flavored lycanthrope he knew the signs of a predator playing with its prey. It was wired thinking of himself as prey but he held no false sense of self that if it came to it Sabin would probably be the one eating. He knew he didn’t really have the killer instinct. He could and would but generally when he did it was all the lion inside him protecting them both. That was weird as he knew his sister had the killer instinct in spades she would make a much better lycanthrope than him. The thought made him sad a little as he’d thought of accidentally purposefully infecting her so she’d have her full mobility back. If he did that she’d see that he wasn’t really much of a lion. He couldn’t bear to think of her seeing him as less.
" What? Wait you’re a doctor how is that possible? I thought they tested randomly to insure that no doctor was infected even accidentally." Adrian knew that was the case as he’d been told that by an Emt he’d tried dating a few years ago. The jack ass had used his infected status and the chance of him losing his job as a reason to break things off. Maybe the law had changed and so long as Sabin took precautions, who was he kidding people were weird about blood and lycanthropes he doubted that had changed.
Realizing that his shock could have come off a bit rude Adrian smiled continuing so as to let Sabin know ehe meant no harm at all. Just that he was shocked and surprised, "I’m sorry I didn’t mean to question you or insinuate anything I was just shocked. You hear all the time how folks lose their jobs once they are infected."
Adrian was slow on the uptake but he caught on what Sabin was driving at kind of. Sabin had run across one of Adrian and Iz’s distant kin. She would know what he was getting at and he wouldn’t have to push and prod to get the answer. He’d call her as soon as he got back to the garage and see what she’d say about things. Smiling like the Cheshire cat himself Adrian nodded to nothing in particular as he congratulated himself for being so smart.

Sabin smiled he Adrian face was as easy to read as a children's book. His mild confusion amused Sabin. He watched as Adrian tried to reason out and read between the lines of what Sabin was telling him. Sabin was intentional not saying the whole truth, but sadly it was not his story to tell, so he would have to let Isadora and Isabella tell that story. Sabin allowed him to stumble along until his family was inclined to fill in the blanks.
"Yes I am a doctor. I actually own the place. Plus I have access to many different blood samples. So..."
Sabin smiled he felt that he gave enough information so that he could know that there were many ways to get something accomplished. While it was true there was currently a serious crack down on any infected and if any were captured on film as being their lives would be casted into limbo, there were many infected that still carried own their lives. Sabin, Maria, were among a few who were able to continue their existence. Although Sabin worked because he enjoyed it, besides it was the perfect cover for all the multiple lives Sabin lived.
Sabin watched Adrian smile. It was a self congratulating smile, he had gotten a clue as to what Sabin was saying and yet not saying. If he was more in the loop of what was happening on the higher levels of politics he could have pieced more of the puzzle together however it was not his lot in life.
"Sabin think we can cover a few more feet per second?"
Sabin wanted to push the lion to run a bit faster as it was. Sabin was in the open and that was not always the best place. especially since with all the shadows in the area if he would ambush someone this would be that place.
