Skye took a breath of fresh air as she walked away from the house quickly she rigged the window so she could leave and get back in. There are times she just needed to get away with the scent of BBW she couldn't sleep very well anymore and then they put her in school. She didn't want to go back she had her High school diploma but no they didn't believe her. No one seemed to want to hear her, they acted like they did but... grumbling as she shook her head and took off running. She need to get away from them all and she doubted they would understand the need she had. She ran to the park that was only a few blocks away but far enough so she didn't have to smell the school as strongly as she has. She wondered if they even noticed how she was or what she was doing, she doubted it. No one noticed the hidden cans of food in her closet next to the backpack she owned or the fact that a knife disappeared from the kitchen and was hidden under her mattress for when she needed a release. She doubted if they knew she didn't sleep in the bed they gave her but on the floor. Her feet touched the grass of the park as she moved to the swings, when ever she was upset she would swing it reminded her of happy things. Slowly Skye sat down moving slightly letting the thoughts that she held back come forward . There was a little light there as she started to swing trying to get away from the dreams that attacked her in her sleep again. She dreamed of hiding under her bed when her daddy was drunk again, she woke up as she started to get pulled out. The ghost of the dream affected her more than she wanted to believe, and to think that was the one of the many she had tonight. Shaking her head while tears fell down as she swung slowly very low while her mind twisted, her thighs hurting do to the fresh marks that where on there from the knife she stole. Taking a deep breath as she tried to calm herself, the tears starting to slow while her panting breath could be seen lingering in the cooler air. This wasn't that bad compared to sleeping in the snow, no that wasn't right she knew how to keep warm in the snow better than this. At lest she had new clothing to keep her warm in this weather thanks to the closet that held extra cloth and the money she earned. She bought clothing or foods and kept them in her room with her, she didn't know if anyone could get into the rooms and if they did the cans where hidden behind a baskets of incense stick and the knife was under the mattress with a bag of coffee. She learned how to cover scents cause of her own nose, sometimes she was too smart for her own good. So lost in her head that she didn't notice anything around her.

Casper's mind was a whirlwind of emotions that he didn't understand. He had shut himself down centuries ago because emotions were what got you killed or enslaved, and he was a master now, with little servants of his own and, soon enough, a city of his own. He didn't need the flood of feeling that came through him whenever he looked at Lana, Angel, Danny, or Temperance. He didn't need that, hated it. Yet talking with all of them abouy it, he knew that it was good that he had compassion for his people. Something about it being what would make him a better leader. Or that was what Lana had told him anyway. He wasn't sure about that, but he was getting better at not letting those emotions get into the way of what he had to do in order to take the city. And he did very much enjoy a little torture now and then, a little torment, so at least it wasn't preventing him from having any fun. He had decided, after spending adequate time ensuring that Vincent was taking good care of Temperance and their plans were going forth, that it would be best for him to find an easy meal on the streets of Chicago. He had taken to walking the streets to get to know the city that would be his whenever he wasn't doing his planning or anything of that nature. No, he just needed to get to know that city that would be his in a way that would ensure that people knew just how serious he was about this place. He was finding that he actually liked it here. He liked the people, the environment, everything that he had seen of Chicago so far. He had thought that he would miss France and London, but he didn't. Plus with all of those who relied on him now, there was no possibility that he would leave. He somehow ended up in a park that he had not been to since he had arrived in town, but it wasn't the fact that he hadn't been here that had him heading into the park. No, it was the smell of werewolf that had him moving into to the area. He didn't know the scent so it couldn't be the Ulfric or his luscious lupa, so it had to be one of their others. Or a rogue. Either way, he would find out and report them to Donavonn. It was the least that he could do to ensure their alliance. He didn't want to use any of the lycanthrope groups, but he wanted to remain friendly with them, and this would help the wolves out a little. Moving deeper into the park, he spotted a flash of red and walked closer, seeing a petite little redhead in a hood swinging on the swings. He could smell the blood on her and that had him frowning. If she had been hurt, it was his obligation as an ally of the pack to harm whomever had hurt her, which he would GLADLY do, but with the way that she was sitting on the swing, the way that she was moving, he knew what self-inflicted wounds look like, even from a distance. Which meant that he either had to be his normal self and ignore it, or he had to be what Lana and the others were making him and make the effort to talk to Donavonn about it. He growled to himself and made a mental note to call the Ulfric later. ”Rather late for a little wolf such as yourself to be running around, isn't it, Little Red?” He leaned against the pole holding up the swing, knowing that the cologne he was wearing did nothing to cover up the smell of rotting wood that made up his scent, but he had never minded that much. ”Does your Ulfric or Lupa know that you are out and about?”

Skye gasped and fell backwards landing on her butt as she looked dazed at him. Her nose flaring at his scent as she stood up brushing the sand off of her, she shot him a look with her innocent doe eyes that was shocked that someone else was here. He wasn't a lycan from what she could tell but he smelt of rotting, it was interesting smell almost reminded her of the barn that was falling apart behind the cabin back home. Something in her screamed that he was a vampire and she should run but she wasn't ready to go back as of yet. Donavonn would be angry with her if he found out about her sneaking out, she wasnt a baby and she could take care of herself if need be. A year and half on the streets proved it, she was still mad ad BBW and feared him more then this man. "I doubt they noticed I left yet since I do this every night I can and have yet to get caught..." Skye said in that low soft voice of her as the country accent was light tonight though tears could still be heard in them. "Its never to late to enjoy the look of the mother moon and the calm the night offers you...BBW ain't going to like the fact I left but I just needed to be away, You know Mister?" Moving back to the swing not really acting herself at this moment her mind still racing from the nightmares that haunted her. With out thinking her eyes flickered over to the mans blue eyes that was standing there. They were so enthralling as if there was a light pull to them, her eyes moved out of focus as she blinked then shook her head her brow wrinkled a little at this. Shaking her head as she laughed a little at this whole thing, some times she wondered why she was cursed so. "Have you ever wish you could turn back time Mister? Maybe find the place where you feel loved or felt like you belonged...Sorry I am babbling now, I get like that when I am upset

Casper raised an eyebrow as he seemed to startle her enough that she fell onto her ass. Okay, so that wasn't a good sign. He hadn't been stealthy in the least when he approached her, which meant that she hadn't been paying attention to her surroundings, which could mean that she could get hurt. Not something that he wanted for an ally group. ”Now, Little Red, I am sure that the lupa has at least noticed that you are missing. She does not seem like one to miss much. She probably just realizes that you need the time alone. I am sure she understands that we all need to be alone at times.” He could hear the tears in her voice and had to close his eyes as another face loomed to the front of his mind, this one with long dark curls and the same blue eyes that he had. At least with this girl, he knew what made the welling of emotion move through him. She reminded him of Magda, his baby sister. He could still the horror on her face as he shoved her into that barrel just before they took him away, and it looked very much like the look on the young werewolf's face in front of him. Clearing his thoughts, he stood there, not knowing what to say to her in that moment. He caught her eyes as she looked at him and sighed as she got the glazed look on her face from the raw power of his gaze. His aura was clamped down so tight that she couldn't know how strong of a vampire he was, couldn't know that her Ulfric's power paled in comparison to his six hundred years of power, but his gaze always gave it away for the young ones. At her question, he slipped into the swing beside her, giving a small shrug as he looked out over the city around them. ”If you only knew with whom you asked that question, Little Red.” His accent was heavier than normal, having been thinking of Magda again, more Romanian than the smooth Brit it normally was. ”Ask any vampire who has lived more than a century if they would wish to turn back time and I can guarantee that every one of them would say yes, that there were things that they wished to change.” He smiled over at her before looking at the city lights again. Thinking about her words, he did something that he never did before. Few knew his history, his past, what he had been in life, so it was a great shock to even him as he started to speak. ”I have only known love and belonging once in my lifetime, Little Red, but that was over five hundred and fifty years ago, you cannot go back that far in ones life without the future suffering. I was raised in a gypsy bandwagon where you belonged as long as you could sing and dance. My mother, uncles, aunts, little sister, and I shared a wagon and it was full of love and belonging. Then there was death and torturing and rotting and … well you do not need to know what my life has been like beyond that.” He looked over at her with a smile. ”Is your life here that bad, Little Red? Are you tortured, beaten, broken? Because I did not find Val to be all that bad when I met her. Though she does pack a hell of a punch, if the blood on your Ulfric's face was any indication.” He smiled at her, hoping that she saw the humor in that as well.

Skye looked at him and smiled sadly at him as she heard him talk Val , the smile never touched her eyes. She didn't even know if Val was at the school she probably at her place with BBW and forgot about them. She wanted to help Seth but he said there was to much at risk to have her help him, it hurt but she understood so she hid food to take with them. "I think she and BBW is at her apartment so they would not notice one a small as me. I am good at slipping out and hiding, thou she did offer to have me dance at the club with her. I am really good at dancing and I can play the fiddle but that is too country I am told." She said in her accent as she wrapped her arms around her shuttering from the cold within not the chill in the air. She listened to him, the first male other then Seth she seemed to not be scared of he didn't remind him of her father in anyway. She nodded to him to let him know she was listening to every word he said. Without thinking she stood up moving closer to him as she hugged him after he talked about torture and rotting and death. Yes what he said confused her but he needed this well at lest that is how she felt. When people hurt they need to be touched a hug made them feel better. "I am sorry you went through that no one should have too, and no Val and BBW is nice to me its not them...it was before them. My daddy hated me the day I was born, I killed my mother that day. IT was my fault she died so I had to pay. HE married my step mom when i was three weeks old after he put my mommy in the ground. Then my step mother started hated me when i turned five Mister...cause when daddy got drunk he found his way to my room and not hers. " Skye said as tears fell down her face she was scared and lost, her innocent eye showed the demons that lived in her. It was her fault that it happen, she should of known better that's what she was told. She moved out of Caspers arms and started to pace in front of him. "Then when I was fourteen he made me take that damn shot...I was infected cause he was scared. Guess what happen then my stepmother called ME the monster and then Daddy took me on a ride and left me in the middle of nowhere. He told me the town would hang me then skin me if I the 'Monstrous Bitch' ever showed back up...I lived on the roads for over a year and a half doing things I never should of had to do...Or dealing with people that hurt young Innocent girls like I was. Then i did something dumb and broke in the school then BBW threaten me then he told me I can stay so now I am part of the pack" She said her chest heaving as she cried slightly, taking a deep breath she calmed herself. Turning pale her hand slapped over her mouth as she looked at him horrified he ma laugh at her. Sorry for talking to much I shouldn't of...I never told anyone this before. By the way my name is Skye spelt with a e"

Casper nodded, letting a small smile grace his lips as he thought about Magda and Little Red's similarities again. He had always been good at the singing, but Magda had loved to dance and play the flute. His heart beat, loud in his ears, and he stopped it quickly, knowing just what this one had over him. He still didn't know about Lana and Angel, but Skye had a direct line to his heartstrings because of her size, her situation, and her reminding him of the one he had loved and lost so long ago. ”Fiddle? Oh! You mean a violin. Yes, I have some skills with that as well, though it has been centuries since I have touched one.” He could play, didn't mean he was that great at it. No, his forte had always been singing, until he had become a vampire, then it had turned to playing instruments of torture. He knew that his eyes grew wide at not only what he had told her, but that she had come over to hug him. People didn't touch him upon first meeting him, especially not lycanthropes who smelled the rot smell that he carried around with him. He froze for a minute before he sighed and wrapped his arms around her, actually wanting to hug someone for no other reason than that he wanted to. Yet it wasn't nearly as confusing for him as it was when he felt like hugging one of the other women in his life. If anything, this felt kind of natural, like he felt when he had hugged Magda. Yet this wasn't Magda. She was someone completely different, but still that overwhelming urge to protect and keep her safe was there. He knew that he should question it, but he just didn't want to. He wanted this hug, this moment. And then she was talking. Casper knew the instant that her words hit him because he felt his eyes begin to swirl with his power. He was glad that she stepped away from him and stopped paying attention to him to keep from seeing the state the rage boiling inside him was causing. Casper might be a murderous, sociopathic, psychopath with a love for torture, but there was one thing that he couldn't fathom, couldn't handle hearing about or knowing that it had happened, and that was violence, whether physical, sexual, or mental, toward a child. The thought that she had had to suffer that at the hands of her own father had the rage he was so good at concealing move through him to the point that he knew that his eyes had begun to become sunken into his head and the skin on his bones was beginning to rot and make a plop plop noise on the ground. And then the fact that they had kicked her out at fourteen, still a child, and left her? The sounds of rattles filled the night air as the snakes moved from the bushes, hearing the unspoken call that he had sent out in his rage. ”Your father and step-mother, they are still alive?” They wouldn't be for long if he had any say in it. He had friends all over the country who would make sure that she never had to worry about them ever again. He looked at her as she finally turned to him, wondering what she would do about the monster in front of her, the rotting vampire with rage and murder burning in his eyes. ”I am called Casper.” And she would forever be his Little Red, whether she wanted it or not. He was definitely going to have to talk to Don about her as soon as possible

Skye smiled as he hugged her back not many people touched her, they thought of her as unclean. She felt safe in his arms though something about him scream he was more dangers then a cotton mouth that lived in the woods back home. Just something about him seemed that she knew him some how, she felt as if she was home in the arms of a older brother which was strange she was an only child. Her father never wanted anymore due too the fact his first wife died do her Skyes birth and he refused it so he made her step mom get fixed. That was fun from what they told her about it, and with Skye she was too young but she was put on birth control at a young age to help her. She looked at him when he asked about her father and step mother being alive her eyes not focusing on him as of yet , sighing she nodded to him. "They should be...Last time I seen him he was driving away from me while I was at the gas station...Why?" Asking him her eyes locking on him, she felt fear move through her but it wasn't for her it was for him. What was wrong with him did he need a doctor or some one that could help him? Skye moved closer to him trying to make sure he was OK. "Mister are you OK? Do I need to get you help? Is there anything I can do to help?" Her voice was a little panicy as she slowly moved her hand to him, she didnt understand what was happening. She looked around and saw that snakes that moved around them closer to him as she watched them, he had an animal she heard about that one. Worry set in her eyes as she looked at him hopeful she could help him. She wasnt running away from him or the snakes in fear, stranger things has happen to her. Donavonn showed wishy washy ways where on the top of her list of strange and scary. He scared her so much she called him daddy, she shuddered a bit then blinked as she looked at Casper. Thats what he said his name was and she liked it, it felt right in her head. "Well Mister Casper sir...I am very glad to have ran into ya tonight. Has anyone told you that you give great hugs?" She said in a cheery tone and a big smile on her face trying to calm him down some she could see the rage. "Please Casper sir I am fine now...no one hurt me anymore. I am as safe as I will let myself be. But if I was too safe we would of never met right?" She offered him her hand as she looked up at him, her nose wrinkled as she giggled

Casper felt the wicked smile move across his face as she spoke about her parents still being alive, the smile that he got when he was thinking about all the ways that he could hurt someone. ”They will not be in the state of living much longer, Little Red, of that I can assure you.” Even if she told him that she wouldn't like it if he killed them, he was going to do it anyway, because no man who could do that to his own daughter should be allowed to live much longer than a few years, and her father had outlived that span of time. Then he realized that she had finally focused on him to realize that something was wrong with him. He was glad that it was dark enough that she couldn't exactly see him clearly or she would have seen that the skin of his face was nearly missing and that his hands were nothing more than bones. ”I am fine, Little Red, it is a condition of being the breed of vampire that I am. I am not in need of any help. I just need to calm down a little, dragoste.” Had he just called her a Romanian term of endearment? He had. Odd, he hadn't done that to anyone but Lana in centuries. Casper laughed at her words, shaking his hand a little to get the last of the rot off before looking at the skeletal fingers, giving a shrug. ”In truth, Little Red, I do not give many hugs out so no one has had a cause to tell me that.” He laid his hand against his legs, feeling the instant the snake wrapped itself around his wrist. He looked, seeing the skin slowly starting to reform on his hand and looked back at her as she spoke again. He shook his head, reaching out and stopping just before touching her, not knowing how she would react to the fact that his hand was just a little bone with a few patches of skin on it. He took his hand back for the moment, looking at the hand she was offering him with longing. ”That is not the point, Little Red. Yes, you being hurt is what brought us together, but no man should do such things to any child. It is ...” For the first time in centuries, he forgot his English and let out a stream of Romania that spoke of how despicable he found what her father had done to her. He took a deep breath and took her hand with his own, knowing that as soon as she realized that it was nothing more than both with a layer of fresh skin over it she would pull away and probably run from him, but it was to be expected, they all ran eventually. ”I will give you every assurance that I can, Little Red, that as long as you are in Chicago, I will make sure that no one every harms you again. Ever.” He raised her hand with his skeletal one, leaning down and brushing his lips across her knuckles, giving a bow that was meant more for court three or four hundred years ago. ”It is late, love, you should really be getting back to wherever it is that you are staying. Though I would like to spend more time with you, if that is something that you would wish.” So much that she could do right now to bring him down, to dash that feeling of warmth in his heart, but unlike others, he knew that he wouldn't hurt her as he had them. No, she was safe from him, as long as she looked and acted so much like his Magda, she was completely safe.

Skye looked at him as she heard him mention that her father and step mom wouldn't be living for long, part of her told her she needed to tell him not to but another part made her not say anything. Though the little girl who always wanted daddy's love started to cry as her eyes showed the battle between them. Tears formed in her eyes as she fought the emotions that ran through her but they never fell, blinking them away. She refused to protect the man that hurt her in the ways he had while she grew up She heard him tell her he was fine as a smile brightened her face with a light from the inside. But what did that word mean as she moved her hand up to scratch her head as she thought of it. " Casper what does Drag...dragostae..I think i said it right but what does that word means?" She asked as she looked confused shaking her head while she tried to think about what could mean. Val called called her sweet heart all the time, Don called her well hell she didn't know she never listened to him unless her was telling her what she could or couldn't do. Skye rolled her eyes at the thought of that, this whole pack thing was still new to her. "Well why not? They feel nice and safe!" she explained to him while she moved a little closer to him and then looked a the snakes. They didn't scare her but the ones here looked like they were poisonous and she didn't want to get bit. Even though she was lycan she could still get sick and maybe die she didn't know and didn't want to test it to find out. "So the snakes are your animal? That's the only thing I know about vampires really. "Smiling as he took her hand yes they were not hands to say, yes she was a little freaked out by them but she felt safe with him and that was the first time she felt this way in a long time. He gave her assurance that she wouldn't be harmed and she believed him more then she did her own Ulfric after what he did to Seth. His lips touched her hand as his bone one pulled her into his mouth while he bowed to her, Skye's cheeks turned red as she watched him stand up again. Her hand wraps around his as she pulled him into a hug again as a little sister would do to her older brother. "I dont want to go back yet, Casper they dont listen to me really. I already passed school and even had a B plus average but they still make me go. Its all cause I am sixteen...Plus I know I am to be safe there but to tell the truth I am so scared of that place. I dont feel like I belong there I feel like and outcast a rogue there is only one I like there. His name is Seth and BBW doesn't like him much...But Seth tries to make sure I am safe and ok. He takes care of me when he is not busy. I feel lie I really dont belong anywhere anymore...though I know one day I will find my home. Maybe I will feel like I do now when I find it..." Skye sighed as she kept hugging him as she thought about the school, she didn't lie she was scared of it there. She also was the kid that looked into the windows, the one that didn't mix well with them at all. Getting picked on, told she looked to skinny by kids made her question a lot of things about herself. "I also WANT to stay and hang out with you...I feel comfortable around you, you are like that Big Brother I always felt was out there waiting for me to find them ya know?"

Donavonn knew that pregnancy made women crave strange things, and his Val was no exception. Though it seemed a little early for the cravings to start, Don was more than happy to get himself together and make a trek to the nearest gelato stand for ice cream. Hell, it was one of the few sweets that Don himself enjoyed, and if it made his mate happy, he was all for it. Choosing to walk considering the short distance, Donavonn made his way through the narrow streets of Chicago, knowing that the place he was intent on was open for at least another two hours. So, he was in no rush to get there, loving the scents of the city late at night. As Donavonn inhaled, the scents of earth, grass, trees and the like invaded his sensitive nose, but two smells had him speeding up his pace and heading for a nearby park. Wolf, young, female, and under his protection as part of his pack... and rotting wood, flesh that should have been buried centuries ago. What the hell were Skye and Casper doing in a park this time of night? While Don knew about her sneaking out, he hadn't thought it was to meet with Casper. He'd never scented the vampire on her clothes or person before, so it was strange indeed to smell the two of them together. Foregoing stealth, Donavonn decided to just go right up to the pair and ask what was going on. He didn't think it was anything underhanded, considering Don knew that Casper wanted the allegiance of the pack in his upcoming coup de tat against Sion, and doing something shady was a sure way to end that partnership. Walking towards the two conflicting scents, Don head Skye's words to Casper, Don chuckled to himself. It was amusing to him that Skye thought that the pack was there to police her actions, or keep her from doing what she wanted. If she wanted to stay out until dawn with a vampire that Don knew wouldn't hurt her, then who was he to try and tell her not to? Actually, that was an excellent question. Clearing his throat as Don rounded the corner to face the pair, Don spoke softly, his words intended for Casper, though he knew Skye would hear them as well. "Casper. Good to see you again. I hope things are progressing nicely on our attack front? Just let us know when you want our teeth and claws at your side, and the Finsternis De Lichts will be there to have your back." Giving the vampire an nod of his head, Don turned to the youngest wolf in his pack. "Skye, I'm not going to tell you what to do with your life. I didn't know you'd already finished school, or I would have had you training with me already instead of wasting time on crap you already know. As of now, consider yourself graduated. As far as the sneaking out thing... Skye, I'm not your father. If you want to get a tattoo, piercing, stay out till all hours of the night, have chocolate milk and cookies for dinner, then that's your choice. I'm not here to make stupid rules for you to follow just for the shit of it. Like I said, I'm not your father. I'm your Ulfric, yes, but that doesn't extend to your personal life. Your personal life is yours as long as you don't do anything stupid. Again, I'm not your father. And beyond being your Ulfric, I'd like to think you consider me a friend." Donavonn felt the need to stress over and over again that he WAS NOT her father, not the monster that had caused her so much pain and heartache. Hell, if he had the means to find them, Don would already be on his way out of the state with a hacksaw and a bag of lyme.
