Sabin sat in the bed wondering what else he had forgotten. He started at the ceiling thinking what would Heiro be up to at this very moment. More than likely he was within the arms of a beautiful woman knowing his friend. He grabbed his blackberry and dialed his number. The phone rang and then beeped. Damn voicemail Sabin thought to himself. He really wanted to hang out tonight with his friend that night.
“Hey Heiro if I can pry you out of the arms of your woman of the evening would you like to shoot pool maybe have a shot?” He closed his eyes and laid back on the bed wondering if Heiro would call him back before sleep overtook him.

Hiero upon waking and feeling the weakness in his limbs took a moment to try and cipher out how he'd ended here. The area smelled of Bear and antiseptic. Over it all was Kasha and Ryssa's scent. He didn't know how long he'd been here or even where here was exactly at the moment. He was alone for the moment though judging from the small heat coming from the chair he'd guessed that he wasn't solely alone.
The IV had healed into his skin which meant that it would have to be cut out. He knew he was in a bad way from the fact that whoever the doctor was they hadn't used a silver coated needle to keep that from happening. He felt like god awful crap. His mouth was dry and his eyes felt as heavy as cinderblocks. He wasn't sure when or whether he'd done so in a stupor but his phone vibrated in the drawer next to the bed. Retrieving it he was surprised to see not one but a few missed calls. The battery was almost dead so he had to choose who'd get the return call.
Sabins took precedent.
He dialed the number holding his breath as his stomach leapt into his throat nearly tearing out everything in between. He wasn't sure who'd go blank first him or his phone...

Sabin nearly dove for the button on the car’s steering wheel that engaged the Bluetooth for the car. The car’s stereo showed the number as belonging to Heiro. He was driving to his house as the stereo announced the incoming call. “Hey you lazy cat. What you been up to. I was just driving over to your place. You still there and not out chasing tail I assume.” Sabin said with a laugh he really missed his friend. It was a new experience for Sabin who for so long cut himself off from true friendship. He had hoped that all was well with his friend. Otherwise someone would have to pay a very steep price.

Hiero lay silent suppressing the pain and listening to the happiness in Sabins voice. He'd failed in returning him back to Chicago and yet. This could be an arcadian trick. As weak as he was he couldn't pierce the veil if he tried. This could be some cruel joke. He had to have hope. Hope that his failure wasn't sealed in permanence.
Sighing as pain rattled through him he heard the approach of someone from beyond the door. He spoke quickly. "I'm at the the Sleuths place. I think. Come see me." He would have added more but the line went dead as did his strength. Darkness overtook him..

Sabin was already pushing his car hard. While this was not one of the more expensive cars that he owned, he still drove the car as if he was going to be late to the last supper. He had to turn the car around to get to the Sleuths. The only reason that Hiero would be with the bears was if he was hurt. The person who hurt his friend life just ended. The reason the unknown assailant held fast to lend himself the strength to attack Hiero hopefully was a cause worthy to die for because that is what was exactly going to happen. That person will rue that he came upon Sabin’s radar.
Why did this have to happen now, as soon as he left town some mobster who just happened to be a Alpha level Lion was rumored to have hit town and was poaching on the crime syndicate that Sabin was trying to set up. It would make since for him to waylay Hiero to try to take over the lions as well as the underworld. When Sabin was finish this lion will truly wish he stayed across the pond but it’s too late now, if Sabin had anything to do with it, this new lion will not be making it home. For the first time Sabin went into a situation intending to allow himself to mentally blank out and allow every one of his baser impulses to bubble to the surface. The only thing that will allow the new Lion to possibly survive Sabin’s rage, altered but at least alive, would be if Hiero made a full recovery.
He pulled into the driveway of the bears the screech of brakes heralding his arrival. One of these days he was going to drop by the bears just for coffee, but not tonight. Sabin took the stairs two at a time. He rang the bell visibly shaking as he waited for someone to open the door. He hoped that they would not impede his path to his friend.

Benjamin had counseled Jeremiah to turn down the Regina. He knew where the lions were that the snakes wouldn't be far behind. It would have been war but sometimes to make a decent omelette you had to kill a few chickens. After what the two of them did to the skulk he was even more leery than ever to associate with them unless he had to. 'That' Jeremiah said was why he was the alpha and Benjamin was not. He went on to explain that if two of the smallest least powerful clans were able to that to an entire clan of martially bent lycanthropes then what could they do to a clan whose greatest asset was its neutrality. Benjamin made no pretense about getting the point he merely as always followed what Jeremiahs orders to the best of his abilities.
True to his assumptions Sabin showed up with enough noise and speed to wake the dead. As he noisily clomped up the steps Benjamin was already at the door. He could of had it opened but making him wait the few seconds he tacked on was as close to vengeance as he could get.
Throwing on his blank face he swung open the door and nodded down the hall towards the lions room. He didn't see the rush the lion was out like a blown bulb. He couldn't even stand with out screwing himself up more. He didn't see how the bastard was holding on. He'd heard the doctors tsking under his breath that he had full blown silver poisoning. Sonuvabitch was lucky his cute little regina had brought him in when she did or no amount of intervention would have gotten him these past few days.

Sabin looked at the medical chart to see if Hiero would possibly make it through on his own. Just scanning the chart it did not look good. It was full blown silver poisoning. Hiero should have been dead well before he made it here. While Sabin first thought was vengeance his second thought was what he acted on he lend his healing ability to Hiero.
Sabin knew that this would leave him weak but as Hiero healed so would Sabin. Sabin fell into a deep restless sleep as the two of them recovered. When he awoke he had a date with a Lion he needed to Scout himself a Lion. Maybe he will force the Lion to shift before he kills him, that way he could have a Lion Skin rug.
Sabin for once in a long time dreamed of Chainsaws and blow torches as he slowly began to recover.
