There was always a down side to every thing. School had the murderous stress of exams making the bliss of youthful freedom nothing but a tall tale. Daiyu had found, however, that in America the burden of good grades as parents were more lax. Atleast for them. Daiyu’s mother and father called incessantly through out her day to make sure she was studying. Mentally, she loathed the college website and her parent’s ability to operate a computer. Between the nagging and pressure very little had been done. Books were often left skewn about her dorm, with her passed out in the mess of it. Redbull cans littered the usually immaculate floor. But when all was said and done, heaven had been found in the lapse of a break for summer. Her school schedule was light come summer, something she’d purposely planned. She wanted to be the tourist after all.
It wasn’t often she did bother to go out. And it took more mental preparation than physical for the foreign exchange student to finally trust herself enough to go. The constant worrying and self loathing was draining and being that she had no control she didn’t want a repeat of what had happened early in the semester. With Kusaji guarding over her and keeping her in check there were less ‘accidents’ but that didn’t ease her discontent and fear. Babysteps would be taken. With tests done, she emerged from her dorm like a child and not three steps out of the building she was spotted. One would think it comical, the way her expression dropped and her body sought to hide behind a group of taller student. If she had a theme song it would have been the mission impossible, the way she ducked and weaved behind people, trees and benches. When the coast was clear, she dusted off her hands and wearly dropped onto the grass in the commons, her shoulders slamming into the earth with a guttural grunt. Around her other students were engaged in various summer activities; sun bathing, freesbie, hackysack, or studying. Her eyes closed.
The blades of grass tickled along flesh, as a heated breeze caressed the Earth around the relaxing vixen. The sun warmed the exposed skin from her t-shirt and heavily belted Capri combo that adorned her slender frame. “Kusaji…” came a weary whisper while her mind worked away as to where he was., he was late….
