Tak got the call. The timing screamed of Max Logan. Something didn't feel right. This was his timing but not his set up. Max never left clues for the boss, ever. Serials never changed MO's then again this is a dragon we're talking about, and his grandson. Still this had a different twinge in the air.
Tak pulled up to the already crowded scene found a parking spot and got out of the car. He knew how to find Jay, but he wanted to get a work up of the area before he could talk to Jay. He could sense that Max was here. Different but no denying his involvement. Finding Max;s purpose was key to finding out where Max would strike next.
Since CPD arrived he could see people checking the grass looking for tracks. He knew that there were so many tracks these cops couldn't find out what happened, not for Tak. He could see Max's trail, and he could also see a set of track chasing him probably female. He saw the vanishing point that lead to the tree's. That only meant one thing, Max was still here.
He found Jay and walked over to him. "See what I mean boss, as I told you he would strike again. What Happened?"

Jay did not answer at first, his eyes cast out over the forest, past the crime scene, in his mind re-playing the murder in his head, trying to grasp an idea of who this Max Logan character was. The images in his mind were not clear; too many questions and not enough answers left gaps in the reply. Jay hated not having answers. He turned to face Tak and nodded,
“I was getting the lay of the land, out for a jog, saw a man, he was quick, too quick to be human, I thought i was being tailed, not an uncommon paranoid trait working for RPIT, i gave chase, but, soon lost him, on my return i found the body....” Jay paused and looked across as he saw a frenzy of press arrive. Damn, those pests were quick; obviously they had informants within the PD.
“You have all of RPIT’s resources at your disposal Tak, I don’t take kindly to my mornings being disturbed by a murder. I am going to contact some informants, see what I can dig up, something about this doesn’t say “human” to me. And my gut instincts are something i trust in, and others should do. You say you have, in the past have phone taps placed? Get me a transcript of anything, remotely useful all case files, all pieces of evidence and I will get you the court order of execution...”
Jay was not a fool, he knew getting the court order would not be as easy as he was used to. He had not contacts in the DA’s office, no friends of power in Chicago. He would have to go about it the old fashioned way of pencil pushing.

"Done, I'll help you get that order. I'll tap some favors I have at the department to get the order. I'll try and get us a meeting with the Judge, I'll gather all the evidence and you present it. This sick f*ck is ours. By the way I'll bet a weeks wage unsub is still here watching. Don't look around or he'll leave. Just know he's watching. This though is not his MO. If we can figure out why he did this, then we'll know where he'll strike next. Was there anything unsub did that was out of the ordinary?"
I almost feel sorry for the kid. There's this case and god knows what on the horizon. Now I really have my work cut out for me.

Jay turned at the question, “I don’t know, Let me call in some favours, I know some people who are great at throwing me leads and tip bits of information. In the mean time, I need to go control the press, no doubt this suck fuck gloats with each piece of fabricated bollocks the press publish, let’s see if i can go control the shock wave, so to speak.”
Jay rubbed the back of his neck and turned to Tak once more, “Let’s get this creep.”

"This creep i going down. If you want I can give a press conference and give them a whole lot of nothing, standard police replies. Mean time you can call in your favors and I can have this press drooling at my every word. Oh and one more thing I need to have a more private conversation with you at the station later on boss."
This was going to be an interesting conversation. Tak loved being lied to.

Jay shook his head, "leave the press to me, its my duty and my job." he pushed his hands into his pockets and sighed, it was going to be a long day.
"private conversation?" Jay arched a brow at this, "very well, I shall see you at the station."
