Tempus fell into an easy stride alongside the detective. He remained aware of the distance between them as he knew mortals were a good deal more careful of the casual touches that both Arcadians and lycanthropes were fond of. Her response let him know that she viewed her sidearm as nothing more than a tool or a charm. Her intonation of 'my' with no details of caliber, after factory add-ons or the like confirmed it. That was a notch in her favor. He would hate to enter into what was before him with one of the more gung-ho adrenaline junkies that seemed attracted to the life of the badge. Her upbringing on a farm struck him as for all of its glamour that was what a kithen was. The farm land surrounding the penultimate fairy castle, but a farm nonetheless."Saved your life that is a story I would love to hear if I am allowed." Her pronunciation of Zlotvor was one of the better he'd heard yet the hollowness of it rang through. She seemed to be using it as a buffer to establish a distance between them. Yet her offer to use a shortening of her name was incongruous. Shrugging of the inspection of her every syllable Tempus smiled as he opened the outer door of the station for her. Glancing back at her desk he reread her name tag. Isabella was an old name that had begun to make a resurgence. It was a good name meaning consecrated to god. It was a shame that she did not wish to have it used. "It would be my pleasure to call you as you wish. However as fair trade is never theft call me as those who know me. Tempus."

Isabella smiled at him as she looked him over again there was something about him that she seen before. Turning her head to the side as she looked at him with a smile touching her lips; walking out before him as she did. "Well Tempus if you like" Stating as she deliberately before left everything about her gun off; it was safer that way so they didnt know what she was carrying all the time. It was her safety net and she tended to use it to the full extended.
"Well about the gun...If you really want to know it was when I was younger my father gave me this gun and was teaching me to shoot. Not even a month later I was able to get my Hunting Licenses so I thought I would go get a doe." She said as she chuckled a bit shaking her head." I was getting cocky and had my revolver and the rifle. I was dumb enough to believe there was nothing out there that would hurt me for the tracks I saw were hours old."
Taking a breath as she walked to the stairs not the elevators, she opened the door and started to walk down them. Smiling as she took the stairs two at a time, she loved the feeling of wind on her even a little bit of it. Deciding she wanted to go horse back riding she had to look for a stable some where near by.

Tempus knew there was quite a bit more to the tale but he would allow her to weave it at her own speed. When he’d importuned her he believed that that it would be a story to fill the space of their dining. As ever he was amused by mankinds penchant for rushing forward at such a break neck pace. Luckily he had much practice at keeping his thoughts inaccessible. Even without using his glamour or hands of power Tempus was expert in keeping his inner monologue of thought from ever gracing a portion of his face or body. Smiling he followed along behind the detective. The view was of appreciable value it was obvious that she stayed in as best shape as she could. He would most enjoy testing her stamina if the opportunity presented itself. Easing to a stop alongside her as they exited the police station. Yes indeed the matter would be a pleasurable one indeed. This earthy protectress could well and truly be a fine addition to his circle of friends and associates. “I await the closing of such a beautifully begun tale. What say we hurry along to our dining.” Tempus said motioning up the alley towards Michigan Avenue.

Isabella smiled as she glanced back at him, a few strains of hair fell from the bun to her face covering her left eye. Moving her hand over her brow as she collected the hair and tucked it back behind her ear as she made it to the last step. Her breathing remand normal as she stopped and looked at him with a chuckle. "I will finish telling it if you lead the way to the Cafe Deal?" She said as she moved out of the stair well then the front door with easy.
"My father warned me not to go out and about for there was something wring in the forest , that they where twisting and turning. All I remember something I never saw before with fangs, teeth and wings came at me. I fired over and over again till knocked the rife out of my hand like it was nothing." She shook her head and chuckled as if she was hiding what happen to her. "I was so young and dumb back then that I thought praying would help, I even called it a devil. Even today I still dont know what it was."
Soon as she stepped outside she took a deep breath of the fresher air as she looked up at sky. The sunlight made the red come out in her hair more as she took her bun down letting her hair fall free for a little while, she was so trained she would be able to put it back up in a second if need be. "So which way do we go now Tempus?" Isabella asked as she smirked.

"Ask me not to lead for I may not. Ask menot to follow for I will not. Let us walk arm in arm and we will, arrive in good company to boot" Termpus responded a true smile springing to his face in response to her his moods suddenly lightened. As capricious as the rumors of the Fae vouchsafe that all Arcadians are, he himself was never fickle. however his thoughts of seconds prior and the dappled sunlight that not even the urban blight of this cities central business district could hide prove a bit much. As the day was nioice and her hidden fae lineage shown through he was suddenly of a mind to unmask himself. Thinking better of such he merely allowed himself a moment to enjoy the earthy beauty that was hidden behind the severe mien of her profession. "Sadly, there are many an unkind thing which might fit such a description. I am sorry you had the unpleasurable opportunity to meet any of them. If I could I would have kept such a thing from you. I amglad that such a happening ended with you well and whole now however." Tempus said offering his arm to her. "The establishment is just this way," Tempus said steering them into what from the outside appeared to be a nearly closed bookstore. As they moved past the rows of out of print and small run books the truth of the establishment slowly opened itself to them. THe ows of books giving way to several cafeteria styled tables. The decor a combination of well loved disparte pieces seemingly from several differnt restaurants. The carpeted floor having given way to stone tiles mopped to a shine. At the rear of the now open space sat a counter and sevearl warming stations filed with delicacies of several stripe. The cook and owner couldn't help herself from showing off her culinary skills every once in a while and so she kept various things on hand for her guests to sample. The owner a Ms. Ollie McClellan, or Mom to her regular patrons sat at the register calling out the orders of the few who were taking their meals to go. Tempus allowed Izzy to take in the world and smells that had been right under her nose this whole time. He hoped she wouldn't figure out just how the scents of home and comfort he was sure were filling her nose were able to be dampened. For while it was obvious to him that Mom was infact a Brownie/Phouka and that it was her glamour that kept her hearth hidden save for those who needed a touch of warmth or who came in good spirits. He waited and watched holding a spare breathe for her reaction. It would determine how fruitful their association could become.

"Well I dont remember but I pulled out the Smith and Wesson and hit it with it I heard a sicking crack as it hit. But what I I remember the best was the scream and that it called me a witch and ran off I think. I had no scars and no real damage but I have claw marks on the barrel of the gun that my father said was no human, dead, or furry. My Father thinks it was a fey and decided I needed to learn about those that walk the ground we do. I know it sounds funny but up until I left that small town I left milk and honey out...I am not so sure myself but this gun is cold steel against my skin and my good luck charm. One in my line of work cant be safe though." Isabella said as she looked at him and the arm offered; shrugging as if it wouldnt hurt her and took his arm.
Sighing as a genial breeze blew her hair to surround her face as her eyes scanned everything that she walked. As they entered her eyes took everything in but something was off even the smell of the older books were not as strong as they should of been in her mind. One of the books caught her eyes as she stopped short, her eyes grew wide as she looked at it. Taking a deep breath of the musky book smell as she bent closer to the book.
"Tempus you got to look there is a copy of 'The Pleasures Of Temperance And Other Poems' Its a rare book...I have a copy at home that was a gift from my aunt. You should read it if you ever get a chance." She stated as she smirked at the book then moved on.
Stopping her eyes scanned the woman in front of her, her eyes widened a bit as she could tell something was off. Her eyes harden as her mind put the puzzle together then soften to the woman that done it. She smiled as she though she knew what happen but she would never say anything to them, and in fact she wasn't even sure if it was what she thought. To tell the truth she didnt really care at the moment.

Tempus’s eyebrow threatened to shoot skyward as Izzy through happenstance spoke of what he’d been thinking. She did indeed use the gun as a tool to protect her from the preternatural world. Specifically the feel of it acting as a dampener of glamour. This was interesting indeed. While it was no large thing her Arcadian heritage showed itself through the dreck and dross of mortality. There just beneath façade of civil servant was the kiss of springs bloom waiting for the right happening. Her excitement held the tin of pretty tinklies. He could hear the slight chime of bells in her voice. It would be a great experiment to see what associating with the fae might bring to the fore. His thoughts got the better of him as he almost missed the tell-tale sign of her becoming lost in a hypothesis. But sure enough there it was. He could only guess as to what she thought of Mom and her little hearth. Her silence a deafening thing after such glamour dropping exuberance. Pretending as if he did not notice her change of demeanors he slid into line so as they might obtain their meals. “So your father gave you the gun with high enough iron content to act as a minor shield against Arcadians.” Shit he thought to himself as he misspoke. To the bulk of th world at large Arcadians were known as Fae. Only those who dealt with, were friends or enemies of, or were in fact themselves would call an Arcadian by their true name. Neither option was one that her deductive mind should be allowed near. Ah well sometimes the best gambits are derailed by a hastily spoken word.

Isabella smiled as she looked at him and flicked her hair over her shoulder, and then adjusted her badge that sat at her hip. “Well what type of food does the café serve here? And then what is your favorite thing here to eat?” She asked as she felt as if she was not herself, it was strange she felt as if she was still a little girl in this shop. Her mind started to analyze everything as she watched and wondered about it all.
Feeling as if she was watching herself threw a cage not really able to control herself, falling in to a hazey place of peace and calming area that she didn’t know was in her. She shifted again as she felt the cool steel on her flesh knocking her back to reality that she needed.
Isabella looked at him and smiled as she nodded, she caught what he said and the acknowledgment of it flickered in her eyes as she looked at him. It was quickly hidden behind a sly look as she glanced at him out the corner of her eye. A smirk appeared to replace the smile on her lips as she her body stance changed to that of when she gave integrations. “So Tempus; Have you sent a long time around the fey to know what they call themselves?” She said in her mono-tone voice

Tempus paused thinking of the proper response he had not tried everything that Mom served as some of her more exotic dishes were in and of themselves simply too much. Of everything he had tried he kept returning to the hunter’s stew. It was filling and tasted of the hunt. Its flavors somehow capturing the thrill and the surge of the chase. Outwardly smiling he looked at Izzy. Giving her his full attention, “Honestly I think Mom is a master of comfort food from nearly every cuisine type. But my favorite I suppose would be her hunters stew. It reminds me of my youth.” Tempus watched a bit shocked as Izzy began to absorb a few castoff ebbs of glamour. He had not assumed her Arcadian lineage was strong enough for her to instinctively grasp the motes floating about them. He would have to rethink certain aspects of how he had assumed to go about things. As instinctively as she had begun to harvest glamour she not only stopped but began shielding herself from it. It was not even many active Arcadians that would ever think of doing so. Often was the tale of an Arcadian among mortals who was done in by the rush of glamour. He knew then just how much of a talisman her sidearm was for her. Just as quickly as these events were happening within Izzy’s person They were now only two places from the front of the line. Returning Izzy’s smirk with one of his own. Tempus motioned with his head towards Mom. He knew everything they said would be intuited by the elderly Arcadian. Be that as it were Tempus himself was feeling loquacious so in the spirit of their potential fellowship he spoke form his heart. “Honestly I can’t remember a time when I did not have dealings with Courts. Either them directly or their envoys or what have you. I have taken it upon myself to seek out even their outcasts. It helps me think. There is something calming about spending time with Arcadians. Even those I dislike.”

Isabella‘s smirk stayed where she had it as she looked at Tempus slowly she parted her lips as she licked them. Licking her lips as she took a deep breath; shaking her head as she wondered more about him. He was strange to her and she didn’t know what to do about it, he intrigued her yet she felt the need to run as far as she can from him. Mortal that got tangled with the Arcadian or anything that had contact with then on a regular basis ended up in a bad way. She learned that in her line of work as she watched people that she worked with become fey struck.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him, slowly wondering what she should do. Not minding that she was eating at fey run establishment or the fact that there was a minor spell to affect her. It was Tempus that sent chills up her back as she stood there looking at what was made for the day. Isabella decided that if it was good here she would come for all the lunches. It was close enough for her to walk to but far enough away for her work off any fat and keep in shape.
Taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes for a second then opened them again. “Well… Lets me see if I got this right you yourself are of fey blood or just really good friends with them but with you speaking of the courts I say you have a very close connection to them that I myself would like to hear more about one of these days. But I think that would be another time for us to bring that one up. Food and coffee first!” She said as she chuckled at the little joke she made.
“So I think I may go for the mix field green salad with the fish taco mix she has.It is said it is made just like my friend’s mother makes it…if not I will go with the catfish, But I hate to say it that soup sounded good too. ” She stated as she looked at him, trying to lock eyes with him. Her eyes seemed to darken but still were two different colors, the hazel color seemed to be greener and the brown color seemed richer.
Isabella really didn’t eat meat unless she had too but fish was a different story. She was always the last in her family feed and it was mostly meats left so she made sure no that it was a balanced diet now. The fact that it was not only healthier that way but cheaper in the long run too; that is how she was able to spoil herself mostly with horse but still.
