Steven was woken yet again by a well meaning nurse. They were keeping him for observation as he had done the unthinkable. He had survived a lycanthrope attack without becoming one of the infected. They had witnessed with their own eyesthat his injuries and broken ribs were healing as slow as they were supposed to be. Yet they had taken the precaution of giving him a holy water saline drip to keep him hydrated.
Dorian hadn't shown back up that meant that it was bad. No it was beyond bad they'd already made up their minds. he knew he was off the force. He could feel their verdict like a storm cloud on the horizon. It was a done deal all that was left would be the blindfold and a cigarette. Another career down the drain. Maybe the Sheriffs department was hiring.
Steven suffered through another pointless test with the nurse checking his vitals and the doodads and doohickeys they'd hooked him up to. Steven watched her careful movements trying desperately to keep his hopes up. He didn't know what was just yet so he'd burn that bridge when he'd gotten to it. Smiling as the nurse eased out of the room Steven let his mind wander yet again. he knew that the next nurse would be in in less than two hours. That still left one hour and fifty-five minutes to at least mentally get his ducks in a row.

Dorian drove straight to the hospital to see Steven. He knew that the man more than likely would not give any information but he was hoping that with enough pain-killers that he would let something slip. His pauses and divergence would tell him almost as much as a written confession. Dorian knew that Cord would have pulled some strings to keep the man from being fired. He had to Steven and Dorian were his best officers. They were his go to guys. If he didn't keep Steven on Dorian would be hard pressed to respect the man any more. Getting the hospital Dorian first made sure that there was an armerd guard outside Stevens door it wasn't like the things that had done this to him were the most subtle or concerned about laws. Looks like Dorian would be spending a good portion of his time at the hospital to keep an eye on Stevens back.

As he walk into the room Dorian felt very pissed but at the same time releived that his partner.... His friend was alive and from the information he recieved from the nurse he wasn't going to have to put a collar around him anytime soon. Looking around the room he took in the white wall with the electrical equipment all about the various cord around Steven attached to his body, "well at least I know CPR" he tought. "Man, well, don't you look just beatiful." Dorian said sarcasticly. Wondering how close the gaurd was to the door and how well he could hear Dorian sat on the bed next to Steven and spoke as low a he could. "I guess you would look even better if you would have had the nerve to tell me what the hell was going on huh?" He asked. Feeling as if he wanted to strangle his friend he asked him in a harsh voice with his teeth clienched. "So do you mind filling me in now before the captain gets here? Thinking about his question realization came to him and he sighed in resignation. "Wait a minute you can't cause he'll be here any second and I guess you have to tell us all anyway, at least some of your story" Dorian back up a bit shaking his head to clear his thought trying to release some of the anger he felt for his friend whom should have trusted him enough to fill in on his case. "Steve just what the hell where you thinking man? Are you out of your fucking mind? Look just be real with me or do you want to fucking rot. I hope you know you have my ass in sparkles too my friend!" Thinking about the scene Dorian tried to feather out what leads they had to go on in a case he knew nothing about. There was that Hero guy whom he saw with his dead eyes bleedin in a frenzy but he looked in perfect health when he went to his home and the dead tiger wasn't givin up nothing. "We have no hard evidence, but luckily niether do they so far we were just attack by a bunch of starving tigers but you know and I know that's bullshit so whats going on." Dorian asked again

Cord moved into the hospital wary his cops eyes roving. They moved slowly with the trained watchfulness of years of seeing the worst in all sorts of people. He expected Blackstone tobe here alreadyand wasn't let down. He waited quietly outside the door listening to Crusinski and Blackstone talk.
Steve listened to Dorian rant. He knew he had to trust someone eventually he couldn'tccontinue withhisventure forever. Notto mentionhemightbe off theforcesohavingan in would only help him. He might not have his job anymore but he wouldn't let the monsters have the city. "Okay Dorian its like this. Ever since they disappearedI knew that sooner or later they'dbe back and I was right. The lycanthropes and Vampires have been moving back to the city in droves. I've got a few guys that I use to catalogue and keep watch on their comings and goings. Its nothing that would hold up in court but it would make finding that all the easier. I've been on the guy from the alley for awhile he hasn't done anything but I know in my gut that he might. He was involved with an explosion in San Diego not too long before. If he's not one of them then he is just as bad. I wanted to be there when he slipped up. I'm tiredof getting there after the blood cools from these things I'd like to do some good notjust damage control. They keep pretty tight lipped evenenemies keep each otherssecrets. We need an inside man and since we don't have that I thought well continued surveillance would do the job." having divested himself of all of the major points of his investigation Steve waited for Dorian to absorb the info and respond...
