White earbuds were nuzzled into her ears, blocking out the chatting happening around her as she walked across the campus. The anime fan club had taken a strange liking to her, some of the 'weebo' students shadowed her whenever they saw her. Foreign exchange students were hardly uncommon but Daiyu's outrageous fashion sense and hair. Her shoulders were slouched forward as she walked, shoulder bag bouncing off her hip with each deliberate step. Finally it became too much and she whirled around, facing two caucasian females that stared at her wide eyed. The taller, wiry red haired one wore a naruto headpiece and a t-shirt that read 'Azn Pride' while the smaller blonde one held a stack of manga in her arms.
"NAN DE YO!" Daiyu, screeched loudly over the blaring american music in her headphones. "GO WAY!"
The girls glanced to one another and started to speak. Daiyu's hand shot up, glaring. "No..." she wasn't in the mood to deal with this. "GO. WAY." her arm shot up to point back the way they came. They spoke far to fast for her to understand so she snarled and told them go to before they could even speak.
Shocked, the females turned around red faced. Clenching a jaw, the skulk turned back and started for her class once more. Who were they to follow her like stalkers? The less people that followed her around the better, right? Something in her mind nodded back in agreement. "Thanks for not ripping out throats" she mumbled to the unseen beast. A sigh fluttered past her lips, fingers musing with her silver bangs. Those that had stopped long enough to overhear the small asian female snap at the other two stared at her a moment, whispering. Headphones on, she couldn't hear the snide remarks about how 'rude' she was.
Entering the building for her 'japanese' class, she settled into a sea of americans. If it wasn't for the 'easy A' she'd not have taken it and had to endure this but there she was. Japanese studies. Pulling out the earbuds and turning off her ipod, she settled into her desk with a facade of her smile upon her face and waited for this current 'hell' to end.

The low drawl of conversation settled into her hearing. A heated debate behind her was raging on with the topic of Bleach vs Soul Eater. Something she'd become oddly accustomed too in her days seated upon her chair. A palm washed over her face a moment then down her jaw as she mumbled something incoherent, slapped on a smile and turned in her chair. "Oi oi oi...Soura Eeta..." she cleared her throat remember her 'l' were not her 'r's. When she wasn't paying attention her accent was horridly thick. "Soul Eater...by far...holds more ahh...how do you say...humor? HaHa?" she scowled as the two boys looked at her, the one on the left, heavy and slightly smelling of too much axe body spray was beaming. "Anou...Bleach...overrated here.."
"HA! See! Daiyu-chan knows the awesomeness that is...." a chunky fist rose up into the air, "Soooouuull Eaaaaaater." . Daiyu sighed, blush creeping over her cheeks at the sheer stupidity he just protrayed.
"But, Yu-San", the dark haired less stocky one whined, "The story is better in Bleach."
A blank look was given to either boy by the female. "No. Its etou..." she pursed her lips lightly in thought, "Repeat...a...tive..." Of course, she'd butchered the word but where she grew up English was like an elective here. People took it because it was a space filler. The bell rang, her body instantly rose, books shoved into her shoulderbag before she left class. Her next one wasn't for a few hours. A night computer graphics class based around Photoshop mostly. The two boys wished to debate more with Daiyu but she didn't feel like trying to translate everything and get gawked at when she mistook words for random replacements such as elephant, toilet and other mundanely weird words. With her blue contacts in, she stared around her, avoiding the larger crowds as she settled upon a table under the shade of a tree and set to relaxing. Chin propped upon her crossed arms, she day dreamed.

He’d been sitting in Japanese studies for a while now taking notes and listening to the teacher speak about japans history. The simple way things were back in the day, he’d been sitting in the middle row with his laptop out, obviously not really taking notes. The silver laptop held a multitude of programs running on it as he was programming to get ahead in most his serious classes this was just something to fill in between advanced C++ and AI protocol. He’d been yawning at the teachers lame background explaining to the other people history of his country.
His ears perked up listening to the back ground and hearing a few of the lame Americans fondle over a female in the class that seemed to be Asian descent he’d heard her spoke in Japanese and turned his head as his dark eyes fell upon her. Speaking about anime, something he loathed about Americans and their belief that only anime is the only good thing from Japan. Taking a deep breath in he’d turn a half quarter letting the long sleeve of his echo hoody to ride up on his arms showing off his tattoos some and drums his fingers.
“baka American jinruiai ka anime, pfft…. Err umm stupid amellicans and their love for anime, at least have class and talk about a leal anime, like elfen leid or Lodoss wals not the crappy Americanized animes … whats next.. naruto? Jesus.. get a life and learn culture, and not be such a gaijin.[/b]”
Obviously he was more than annoyed at the people who obsessed over the Asian female just because she was Japanese or at least seemed to be some sort of mix of Asian with something. Having only been in the US for a week still made his accent apparent he was from Japan and had just recently arrived. He’d tap a pencil against his forehead as he snapped back around listening to the teacher. What caused this fan base of people believing Asians were near godly on all things anime.
“lay off the girl, she probably just landed, she don’t need you gooeying all over her just because she’s a Asian, dumbasses…your pathetic have some class and show interest in your own culture…your nothing but fan girls… I bet you don’t speak a lick of true Japanese just crappy anime versions… grow up.[/b]”
He’d given his last input to the kids he did catch her name within the ramble of their idolization of the girl Daiyu or black jade he thought was a interesting name, however said nothing as he went back to programming whipping out his reading glasses and put them on the bridge of his nose looking at the symbols of code and rolling of indexes as he coded the simple AI program to run a simple text speech program for a computer. AIML was simple almost html like coding that instead created a intelligence for computers to carry on full conversations to a human counterpart.
Boredom sat in within the class as he went to youtube, and put in his ear buds looking up a band and listened to gazette Guren.

Kenyon had sat more towards the back of the classroom mainly because no matter what level of glamour he used he still attracted attention this way however if they didn’t notice him before they sat down they wouldn’t notice him until he left for his next class.
He was learning about the mundaities of the different human conditions. He’d paid for the classes in full and he attended them religiously. So far few had approached him. He wasn’t overly bothered he just looked like an older student. They however didn’t need to know that he was old enough to teach the history they sought through books from memory.
Sun gilt hair cropped close to his skull. He kept it short because it seemed to be the one thing that had a life of its own and always did. Blue green eyes watched the teacher drone on endlessly he paid attention but it fell into one of those segments of his mind to where he could do something else while he listened to the diatribe pour forth in an attempt of teaching.
The summer crowns had been dispersed to their owners for the season. His scent had changed again now it was that of sun across open meadows, green forests and fresh water. It was a clean scent. He sat his fingers racing across the keys of a laptop. Instead of just taking note of what the teacher’s topic was he was taking notes on the behavior of everyone else in the class.
He’d noticed earlier two lycanthropes they had a scent of change to them. One male and one female. Both were new in the class. And Both were young he’d watched the exchange making notes and doing his best to write their words. An exercise of the mind if you looked at it from his point of view. He observed the fanatics who seemed to start pestering the girl and then the boy turned and went off on them agitated it seemed.
Kenyon watched as the fan girls backed off and seemed to be in their own discussions. At last the class was over. He watched at least half the number bolt out of the class as fast as they could. He moved with the inherent grace that he was born with centuries ago. Subtly stepping out of the ways of others and avoiding near collisions without an effort. He stepped into the row where the girl sat and stopped a few feet from her.
“They’ll leave you alone after a few days. They normally do at any rate. I’m Kenyon.”
He smiled welcomingly, offering his hand. He was dressed rather plainly with a beat up back pack that he had stashed his laptop in, a pair of well worn faded jeans. An aqua muscle shirt and a black hoodie half zipped with a pair of gray track shoes. Facial wise you couldn’t discern if he was of a specific ethnicity. With how pale he was he could have been albino if it wasn’t for his eyes being the strange blue green.

Something bothered her, something deep. Primal. She couldn’t explain the feeling as she’d not felt it before. What was it? Her flesh grew clammy a moment as a flash of heat, one she knew washed over her. Her blush deepened and eyes dropped.
Even before she'd been able to escape the crowded classroom, her attention was pulled first to Kusaji. Another body in the class though of Asian decent. There hadn't been many in the room. Just 'weebos', American people obsessed with Japanese culture. Being from both Chinese and Japanese decent she was used to seeing others of either kind around her. Growing up, she travelled between Japan and china to visit family. She knew both languages and could even mix them both in the same way people spoke engrish or spanglish. For a moment, she had stared at the other, head dipping in quiet thanks before the bell rang.
“Ja’matta mina!” the teacher called cheerfully. Taking a breathe, Daiyu bowed to her and turned for the door. That was when Kenyon moved to stand in her way. She started at him, his unearthly color of his flesh. She’d never seen or known what an albino was so the color was a new ‘weird’ for her. Her eyes turned away from his own respectfully so not to stare.
Her right hand rose, fingers digging into her hair in a scratch to the scalp. A nervous gesture as she shifts her weight from leg to leg, “Ah…” her hand dropped down to grip the strap that fell between her breasts. “Hope so..” she still didn’t look at him. “Daiyu.” The name slid from her lips quietly. Shy, she was to those she didn’t know and those that didn’t outright annoy her. “I’m the new toy..” she made a meager joke, though unsure if the reference was correct. “Ha…” shaking her head, she shoved aside whatever humor she had made the short laugh to. Heterchromic eyes rose up to peer up at him a moment then darted her gaze to the door. “Should go…eh..” Face flushed, she bowed her head and started for the door. Feeling like Daiyu had made a fool of herself, she wanted to go to her usual on campus day dream spot. Lingering at the door, she held it open for those that were exiting.

The feeling a subtle jump of his beast as she walked by, his eyes closed and felt the familiar wave and energy he feels for himself a fox as well. He’d know it by signature alone a soft breath gently flown from his mouth as he opened his eyes. He’d follow the form of Daiyu as she walked out of the classroom picking up his yellow canvassed backpack he’d stand getting up as well. Step by step as he bumped through the sea of bodies that siphoned from the classroom.
The classroom seemed filled with irregular people as his chi was attuned to the force of her beast the smell the feeling everything such a familiar way to her. His beast leapt against the cage within his body he’d follow a few steps from her body away out of the class. The sudden stop of her caused him to stop as well being in front of a snow toned skinned male. He’d never seen this kind but seeing his current attuned senses from being linked to his beast to search for the other he’d tell something was different about him, just by the chi that surrounded the male. He’d breath and open his eyes as he listened to the words of the bright male.
The words of the teacher rang in his mind and he’d smile as they were bid farewell by the teacher. His eyes however were focused upon the girl and then to the male not catching the words so much but knew they were speaking as he stopped then beside the female to her left. His hand reached out to touch her shoulder. The simple graze of touch would cause her beast to leap in a direction of his own. He’d figure it was rude to not let her beast know where the familiar scent was coming from unknowing of the level of her control so did it in a subtle manner also suppressing a calming wave, a rubbing of his beast against hers to calm hers.
“Don’t feel bad, I was the target last week… when I first arrived here in America… My names Yoshida Kusaji and yours is Daiyu… Right? Sorry I eavesdropped when you told the weebos your name back there.[/b]”
He’d stand by the door as they exited holding the door as well not leaving Daiyu’s side he knew she’d be going through enough stress and didn’t want her to shift, as well in his own way controlling his beast as it was around a familiar scent and feeling hoping being close to her would calm her beast as well.
“Just calm down… breathe and don’t stress yourself I was in the same boat as you just a week ago.[/b]”
Looking at Kenyon his head bowed slightly in a greeting as he watched his movements ever graceful, he’d known something was off about him, but not sure what. The way chi flew around him and in his presence read to be much different than him, or Bernie or Saphyre or even now Daiyu. He’d smile to his self as he pulled the white hood over his head to frame his face and pull off his reading glasses putting them away. His head bobbed upwards towards Kenyon in a greeting.
“Hello.[/b]”

If anything Kenyon had expected the reaction. The shyness, and the quick escape. A light shrug, adjusting his pack on his shoulder as he moved out of Daiyu’s path. He watched her go and followed. He paused when Kusaji bowed his head in greeting to him. Kenyon bowed his own in greeting. And took hold of the door holding so that Daiyu and Kusaji could pass unhindered.
“Hello, I’m Kenyon.”
Kenyon proceeded to hold the door and watched Kusaji recognizing musculature of someone who was trained in fighting. It showed in everything from how someone carried themselves in their posture to casual movements. Even in how they watched a crowd or how they didn’t. Kenyon merely smiled. He did not fall under the fanboy or weebo category for the classes normal students.
He rubbed his fore arm along his hip dragging the sleeve up his arm. She that he could take a look at his watch studying the time. He now had an hour until his next class. After Daiyu and Kusaji would pass through the door. He held it for a minute or two allowing others to leave the class. He left the door as one of the last students as someone else took up a turn with the door.
He didn’t mind letting the foxes go their way. He had found he did not know what to think of these simple mortal foods and had taken to carrying his own morsels with him. He smiled thinking fondly of such sustenance. He moved down the hall and dipped out into the outside quickly taking in a breath of fresh air. He did not overly care for the recycled air and scents the air conditioners used. Even though there were windows all about they were never opened.
He moved away from the outdoor café’ and headed instead to a small cubby, a few trees a bench but off the beaten path. Few came to this tucked away spot he wasn’t at all certain why but it was quiet. He wouldn’t have much to worry about here. At least he could eat his food without being disturbed. So he settled not on the bench but at the base of one of the trees.
The foxes would be interesting to observe. This new one made four that he had seen. The boy was a new addition as well. Kenyon however didn’t really talk to very many people. He didn’t want another situation like the last one when he had walked among the mortals.

The boy, taller than she, Kusaji came up beside her. Speaking to her as if he wished to know her. Staring up at him, she bit her lower lip a moment. Again, there was that flash of heat to her body and she grew nervous. It was something she didn’t like. It made her too nervous of ‘blacking’ out. Her eyes narrowed in study. Calm down. “Get. Away from me…” she stated bitterly. Not liking where he was going with that statement alone, she turned and looked back to Kenyon. A smile played upon her lips before looking back to Kusaji. There was a soft blush, creeping upon her cheeks. “A…nou….” Glancing between the two, she inched backwards, hand gripping her shoulder bag. “Ja’matta ne” she said to either one.
Stepping back, the female pivoted on her heels and ducked low into the growing crowd. When she had finally gotten far enough away from them, she let out a breathe. She felt less smothered for the time being. Daiyu’s fingers rose up, slipping along her cheek to slip within her black portion of her hair, going root to tip as she flicked her locks over her shoulder. Reaching downwards, into her shoulder bag that rests against her hip, she pulled out a treat. A stick like cracker covered in strawberry from a box labeled Poki. Her other hand rose up, placing one ear bud into her right ear. She didn’t know where either male had come from but their presense had almost made her lose herself. All that work hiding this abomination that pulled at her awareness . Shaking her head, she glanced over her shoulder toward either male. One, Kenyon, had moved off and she wasn’t sure if Kusaji was following her. She’d remembered he’d said something about being new as well. A week prior to her, he was the target. Silently, she hoped another student would come along, right now. Turning her head forward, she glanced around. No such luck.
A few stray glances caught her form and she lowered her head and dipped through the double doors. Fresh air hit her lungs, and with a sigh of content, she moved to the table she’d been thinking about for the last forty five minutes. Settling down, she placed her bag upon the stone tabletop and flicked it open. What was she? A monster. It was dangerous for her to be within this campus but this campus was her sanctuary. Why expose herself to unneeded stress of the outside world? She nibbled on the end of her treat and absently watched a squirrel skitter across the pathway and up a tree. “Sooou naaaa” she sighed out and smiled absently. “Kawaii…” looking skyward, her thoughts drifted as they often did.

The words seemed bitter as they flowed through her lips however he seemed stunned a moment as she simply said farewell to them. His hands gripped the black strap of his yellow canvas like backpack. The tied top enclosed keeping his laptop and other things within its confines. He’d listen to every word the feel of her beast as it scurried the same flight like pattern he used to have as well before he accepted it.
“The more you fight… the more it will win[/b]”
He shouted at her, she was just like him in a way, wondering if she felt it as a curse thus the reason she fought it being just there or was it like him. Only one way to find out as his body stepped away from the door watching Kenyon move away from the group and shrugged some. His hands gripped the black strap tighter and hiked it on his shoulder letting his body adjust and walk lighter on his heels and ball of his foot in a stealthy like move through the crowd He’d not be obvious about following her, as she looked back his body moved in the sea of people and ducked down so she’d not see him so well. He figured probably to approach her with a bit more secrecy and without so many people incase his startle did cause her to shift or something.
He’d look down as she seemed to head to the outdoor café tables his form followed her own as he stepped out the feeling of sun warmed his flesh as he flipped the purple colored sunglasses thinly framed upon his nose skittering to move behind her while her attentions seemed to be on the squirrel. His back of his chair would align with hers perfectly as he leaned back bringing the two legs up balancing them as his head would then catch in her eye sight. His eyes flashed with a golden gleam showing his beast like reactions to hers. His hands in his hoody pockets and then his voice spoke to her in a soft tone. The look in her hex chromic eyes made him smile slightly as he prepped a breath in his lungs.
“One don’t run.. you’ll only draw more attention to yourself, and no I am not stalking you just best this was done in a more well… not around mundies.. never nice when they find out…I am surprised your curiosity don’t really bring you closer to the same feeling aura and chi as you… but I guess I might as well be here first for you… I am the same as you... my favorite animal… is a fox as well. There are others like you and I here… so you no longer have to truly hide…I can answer questions only to what I have knowledge from… I am like you and haven’t been around many… Fox lovers but I have learned a lot in the 2 weeks I have been here.[/b]”
His whisper was to her alone looking at her directly as he spoke. His silver ring etched finger pulled down the purple colored glasses on the bridge of his nose. The words were in code to her as he tried to push forwards the beast from a simple touch of his hand through her hair to calm the flight like urges she’d have. He’d been in her position many times over. An outsider to those around and even lost to what he was. He felt it all from her the uneasy action. He’d look at her through a unobstructed view.
“Don’t worry … I am not here to scare ya just offer you friendship and a kinship so you do not feel so alone and lost and know that you’re not the only one in this world… that is just like you.. I used to think and feel the same then I met another and it helped me a lot.[/b]”

What Kusaji had said bothered her deeply. Her hand rose when she heard it..over her shoulder, middle finger poised upwards in his direction since when she looked back, he’d not been seen by her. That was her only reply inside the crowded halls. She figured he’d see the gesture if he was looking. Her day dreams of home. She wondered what her parents were doing? Did they miss her as much as she missed them? A movement caught her attention, pulling her contact baring eyes to meet his own.
“What?” she started to say in japanese, he didn’t want her to run? She was already planning on it but she heard him out. Speaking within her native language. “The campus is almost empty…No one would notice if I ran. Are you…stalking me? You must be. You’re crazy. I have no idea what you’re tal—“ she stopped. His touch made something horrible surge through her body. She recoiled. He was like a poison drawing out that –animal- “Stay away from me..” Her body grew rigid, hand gripped the tables ledge so tightly her fingers were trembling from the pressure. All she could do was stare at him, her breathe rapid and erratic. To anyone that may have glanced her way, it would have looked like she was having a panic attack. Temper flaring, the usually quiet, shy girl snapped at his face with her teeth. “You know –NOTHING- of what I am going through…NOTHING.” Fear and panic gripped her as her vision started to darken along the edges. Angry, frustrated tears sprang into her eyes as she glared at Kusaji. Who was he to approach her like this? To tell her he –knew- what she was going through? How could he possibly now how much of monster she felt she was? The beast in her leapt, but she didn’t feel anything but a flush of heat all over her body.
