Events
Chicago...Home of a population of over three million people. Chicago...A city of lights. Chicago...The City of Wind. The city...the tall buildings...the remaining stockyards...a place where no sane person leaves home without protection...it is not only corrupt but thoroughly honest and unapologetic in its corruption. Chicago, home of the vampires who thirst for acceptance as well as blood. Chicago, home of the lycans who struggle against the beasts within... Chicago, home of the magical fey whose powers know no bounds... Chicago, home of the witches and supernatural beings who crave power. The setting is present day Chicago, Illinois. It is a city that has recently been rocked by a purging of the supernatural community. None of the powers that be are sure exactly what transpired. Unsure of what caused the recent troubles they are sure of one thing... Chicago is once again habitable to their kind. As such the city is in the middle of a land grab the likes of which hasn't been seen since the westward expansion. The first casualties appear to be the local Streak as the other clans have their hands at the throats of those who lust for power. Everyone wants their fair share and the city is in uproar as the dust begins to settle...

Yes it's right. I can see where it might bother some people, but most people don't process things as quickly as I do mentally. What did you study in school? I went to college in Philadelphia myself, I studied Criminal Justice.

"Law is interesting. I might look into again one day. I think I would enjoy learning it. That wasn't what I was looking at though. I was studying music. I do open mic nights. Some say I'm good, some say I'm generic. I don't care. I enjoy it. Even if I never make it, I want to enjoy being in front of a crowd and giving them my all. Do you have anything like hta tyou love to do? I think most people do. I can't blame them either. We all have our oddities. Barely anyone can pronounce my name when they see it. It makes me laugh."

"Yes law is interesting, but if you enjoy music than that is what you should do though. Law is not an easy job to have I can tel you that, especially for a woman. But you play beautifully. I would like to come and hear you sometime. When do you play next?" Rayvan almost chuckled she was now jumping subjects as badly as the girl next to her.

"How often do you play? And where? By the way, what is your name? Mine's Rayvan," Wow, this girl was rubbing off on her, Rayvan knew she was different but she couldn't tell exactly how. An Arcadian maybe? Or at least part fey of some kind.

Elf thought about it all. "Well, I don't care if things are hard or not. I enjoy challenged. They're the best hting of all. Who wouldn't want to have a good challenge before them. Besides then I'd have somethin to focus on and I would be as random and scatterbrained as I am...hopefully at least."

There were other things to talk about though. Music! "Thank you," Elf said smiling. "I like my music too. I play at a club four blocks from my apartment every Thursday night. I don't know what's its called, but it's a nice place. The people are friendly and the appetizers are great. You should try to find it some time. I think you'd like it."

Rayvan smiled at her, "I enjoy a challenge as well, it is part of who I am." She didn't want to tell the girl that she wasn't the type to get into police work, she wasn't hard enough for the realities of what Rayvan saw everyday. "I'm sure there are plenty of things to focus on with music, I unfortunately have never been a hand at playing or song myself."

"I may try to come and see you play sometime if that's alright. I think I would like to head you sing and play. I certainly will try to find the place you play." Rayvan had no idea how, but she would do her best that was all she could do after all.

Elf smiled. "I think you'll be able to find me Rayvan," she said looking at the woman a little thoutfully, a little sure. "I have a feeling that I'll see you again....I hope I'm not wrong. Besides. I'd like to see if there is someone who can pronounce Aelflaed right. That is my name after all. Aelflaed McKinnery, though most people just know me as Elf. If you ever have any doubt, just ask around for that. I doubt there are that many crazy, random dark haired nuts from a small town who are college drop outs called Elf. You'll find me if you want to Rayvan. Don't doubt it."

Elf should probably leave soon, but she didn't want to until Rayvan sent her away. It was nice to find someone who didn't look at her like she was crazy every time she jumped subjects. It was nice to be around someone who could possibly consider her normal. It was a definite change from her normal routine.

Rayvan returned the girl's smile with one of her own. her green eyes lighting up, "I think you're right. I think I can find you again. " Her grin widened, "I think we will definitely be seeing each other again/ but I'm not sure I can pronounce your name. I'll just call you Elf." she wasn't going to even attempt to say it, she knew she would fail miserably. " I don't think you're crazy, random yes, but not crazy."

She looked up as she saw her train was boarding, "I'm sorry Elf I have to go that's my train, but I am sure we'll meet again. You take care and have fun. I'll be around, I'll come see you play." And she rose and started toward the train turning and waving at the girl with the guitar.

Elf smiled thoughtfully after the woman she had just met. She knew she would see her again. She didn't claim to be able to see the future, but she had a feeling that she would see this woman again nonetheless. She didn't discredit it either. Now she really needed to get back to her apartment. Hopefully it didn't stink.

Hopefully she didn't walk in any dream when sleep time came. That thought was the worst of all. She didn't want to have to deal with that. She couldn't. She was strong in one sense or another, but there was only so much a girl could do. Elf sighed. "Time to go home," she whispered putting her guitar in it's case, picking up her bag and moving to the exit. Her bubble had already diminished greatly. Today was turning out to be a pretty good day after all.
